Well like well over an hour and half of it is because I mess up 50 star door blj(don’t know what it officially know as)
I know what you mean, CometKewber. I remember before I started speedrunning trying so hard to get a BLJ on the 50 star door for about half a year. I think it might be one of the hardest spots to get a BLJ in.
It defenetely is Jcub, in my 1 Star rubs this blj takes me even longer than sblj, and sblj is very difficult
I haven't even done SBLJ yet. Amazingly enough, one time, I don't remember the specific date, but I actually got a BLJ there on the first long jump, which back then I heard was rare even for the biggest pros at the game, so I was kinda excited.
I recommend practicing BLJs once in a while but don't over do it to avoid injury. Once you get the muscle memory for the timing of it, it's actually pretty easy. Good luck on your practice!
Practicing movement and timing will go a long way! For BLJs a lot of people just mash as fast as they can when in reality, your rhythm is important too! Having a good camera angle can also help, I like to use C down mario cam which helps keep the camera straight on the stairs. Watching other runners (beginner and advanced) helps you learn a lot of things too! Go check out smaller people on twitch and if you see them do something you have had issues on, ask! Most people are willing to offer tips.
Thanks everyone also kyo that is what a friend of mine told with only practicing BLJ's once in a while :)
At first, I had SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much trouble with that BLJ, but I learned that if you harness the power of your nose to spam buttons, you'll be able to get it more consistently.
We would like to announce that VC and EMU subcategories are now active on the Stage RTA leaderboards (under "Levels"). Stage RTA involves collecting all the stars in a given stage including the 100 coin star. Timing starts on star select and ends upon collecting the final star. You are allowed to us
