Time Loss During Cutscenes and Lag

When I load the game up for the first time of the day I will lose time during just about every cutscene in the run (anywhere from .5 to 1 second of time. The game will also lag during doors and even when switching between camera angles. USUALLY playing the whole run through once fixes both of these problems. I am mostly tired of having to do this because it really is just a waste of an hour to get the game running better, but at least I have a partial fix to the issue right now. There is at least one other person I know of that has this same exact issue and I am hoping for a Christmas miracle that maybe somebody has an idea to fix this so I don't have to always do a full run through of the game before going for actual attempts.

Also doing the full play through did not help tonight which is why I decided to throw out a prayer on here for some answers. Thanks much

I had the same problem. I think this is related with the reading speed of your hard drive. A SSD should solve this problem. If you already play using SSD, try to use RAMDisk (I use the program Ultra RAMDisk, the lite version).

Just for information, you can use your RAM memory as hard drive and there are some program that can help with that task. In terms of speed: RAM memory > SSD > Hard Drive. The better your memory, more faster it is (DDR4 2400 > DDR4 2133 > DDR3 1866 > DDR3 1600).

Since my english is not really good, I will not try to teach how to use, but there are a lot of tutorial on youtube, teaching how to use it.

To play RE2 using this method you will need at least 6GB of RAM (2GB for the game, 4GB to your computer)

If none of this works (the game still lag for me in some doors), you should consider improve you desktop (GPU and CPU). (My laptop is really old).

Way back people used to turn on a movie in windows media player and keep it muted in the background. This usually solved any lag issues in the game.

Never had any lag issues except when I upgraded to win10. Downgraded to win7 the same day cause RE2 wasnt working properly.

The lag is due to some data not being cached. This is why first run of the day will feel a little more laggy than the rest. If you own an SSD, this lag will be far less noticeable due to write speeds being much faster.

The spec requirements for this game are also alarmingly low. Remember, people used to play this game on pre Windows 98 PCs. You don't need 6GB RAM or a decent CPU to run this game. To record with OBS, however, you do.

Can you list your PC specs, specifically your CPU/HDD?

try to use an SSD, should improve

The thing is that recieving such lag between camera skips, door loadings, and after cutscene, is that you running .exe file of re2 with compability mode, just uncheck that option in exe file of the game and run just as administrator rights. That will fully solve your problem.

Insanebb thank you for your suggestion but it seems i am not running the game in compatibility mode and if i run the game in administration mode my live splits will not work for whatever reason.

" if i run the game in administration mode my live splits will not work for whatever reason."

Try to put your livesplit in administration mode too. I play with everything in administration mode, and I dont have any problem with that.
