You can just name it anything, the name doesnt matter

ok but do i have to show demo proof or is my recording enough?

Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

To give you some context: A demo is basically an ingame recording (think of it as just recording all your inputs), which can then also be played back ingame. A demo is a .dem file. Once you've recorded a demo, you can submit that by just uploading it to any filesharing site (google drive, dropbox or whatever) and putting the link in the run description. For Individual Level runs, proof in this form (including a link to the .dem file) is required (video proof is optional).

ok thx!

wait how do i know what my time is after i record it

Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

In the Resources section ( https://www.speedrun.com/portal/resources ), there are a few demo timers linked (Listdemo+ is good for single demo files like you would get in an IL, Portal Demo Timer is better for fullgame runs with multiple demos).

but when i go into the demo timer it says my time is a 2:15 when its actually a 2:06 or 2:07

where are you getting the "actual" time?

Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany

As I put in the rejection note on your run, when doing ILs for 00/01 (and similarly for e02), timing starts when the crosshair appears. Listdemo+ does not account for this, while the Portal Demo Timer does.

ohhhhh umm well this is awkward i think i used the wrong timer

okay okay i get everything now i don't have any more questions and if i do... well then im kinda dumb XD

Infinite Sensitivity Ban

It was recently discovered that it is possible to set your mouse sensitivity to a value so high that the game considers it infinite, leading to several new glitchy techniques being discovered.

The rules have now been amended to ban these new techniques in both Inbounds No SLA Legacy and Glitchless.
