With the official port to switch being announced and released I am wondering whether runs on it will count?
Im not a mod but i am predicting that there will be another subcategory for the switch. I am hoping it will be on the leaderboards because i haven't gotten my hands on the GCN version of the game. But try asking in the pikmin discord.
from mods: General announcement: we will be waiting a few days at least before making a decision on boards for the ports. We will see how the game pans out then go from there.
The switch controls are a bit wonky if you haven't tried it already. Maybe it's better if you're used to the wii version but I found it borderline unplayable, even after setting up custom controls on the Switch menu. The c-stick is now a two-button combination and I can't customize a two button combination, so it just hurts my brain.
I hope switch speedrunning gets allowed soon, ive done a few super casual speedruns on the wii and gamecube versions and am eager to actually submit a time on the switch port
personally i think the switch has the best version of the controls for 1 and 2 once you get used to them, and i dont use motion controls
I learned the game on the wii version, so finally having a controller version where i can swap the pikmin im holding is great
Looking forwards to seeing how optimized these Pikmin remasters are, and how fast we can speedrun them!
