While it wouldn't specifically be because you're playing on a laptop (several of us have been playing and/or running on a laptop, me included, it isn't a laptop-specific issue), it could be because of your hardware, origin of the copy or if you may be running with certain mods. Are you running the game with the Widescreen Fix and running it on one core?

Actually i don't use widescreen fix on my NFS MW because it doesn't work for my NFS MW so i don't use it and as for the origin of the game copy i don't know either but what is clear is that i downloaded the game from internet archive
