Now that you’re ready for more advanced strategies, let’s begin!
All the preparation and the intro cutscene should be done as detailed in the basic guide, so we won’t cover those sections here.
#Hands Phase
To make your Hands phase faster and more optimal, you’ll want to practice predicting when the hands will leave their portals. This means walking further to the left or right where the hands will come out and hitting them when you know they’ll come out, and requires a lot of practice. #Orbs Phase
To do Orbs phase quickly, you’ll want to use what’s called the Kain strategy - after hitting Restart, roll right, jump up against the right wall, and then deflect orbs while descending to the ground. You can again see this done in the current World Record here:
After that, you’ll immediately get the part of Orbs where the clones randomly arrange themselves. For a good time, you’re going to want to get good enough RNG to hit every orb back at the clone and kill all of them, which is known as a onecycle. This is a very common reset point for runs, and about 75% of my runs end here.
#Eyes & Final Phase + Exit
There is actually nothing different in these two phases, just practice and do it quickly. No new tricks or execution. The exit is also of course the same.
#Goals
If you want to set goals for yourself, here are some benchmarks you should try to reach when implementing different strategies:
After implementing faster hands phase: under 2:50
After implementing the orbs onecycle and faster hands: under 2:40
