So, I know that this would be a pretty remarkable kill, but it seems pause buffering is actually better than killing Megaman normally. This isn't against the rules, right? Given that pause buffering is allowed everywhere else.
I'd love some of the runners and/or mods thoughts on this. Kind of makes me question whether consecutive pause buffers should be allowed on bosses, but considering the ruleset for the past runs, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't be.
Marginally slower kill with backup strats + a Moonwalk strat at the beginning for easy positioning. You generally don't want 3 bullets on the screen to avoid that 1 damage on the third shot, but it's not terrible, either due to losing frames with sloppy pause buffers.
im surprised nobody has done this yet lol. Cool find tho, i dont see any reason it would be banned
Sorry, to clarify - I didn't mean to imply I came up with the idea to pause buffer on Megaman. I believe I tuned into eelusion's stream some months ago where he was practicing the strat and commented doing it that way takes about as long as the standard kill (~25s?).
In my experience, a crappy pause buffered fight takes about 23s, decent one, 18-20s, and great one, 15s (theoretically) and under depending on your muscle memory. Definitely worth practicing, IMO.
So, what I think @Jqck is saying is they're surprised no one is attempting it in any% dbo, no ww by default. Don't get me wrong - it's hard and frustrating if you press the keys all at once and resume - but it isn't that inconsistent. Not compared to the many other frame perfect tricks in the run.
