Perhaps the setup could be improved, but the general idea is that shooting every frame is pretty effective at keeping it from splitting. This permutation is probably pretty close to if not optimal, which is surprisingly fast.
PROS:
-
Seems to be much more consistent and predictable on average.
-
Optimal pause buffered vs pauseless is only ~3s slower. See: 2nd vid below.
-
Can still go for the "lottery ticket" with the same setup.
-
More feasible in runs than a really good pauseless-Fire.
CONS:
-
Slightly obtuse visual cue if more shots are required.
-
The usual pitfalls of pause buffering (stuck screen, finger-breaking binds).
-
Obvious drawbacks of choosing the slower strat.
A quick side note to Anso: I'll remind you it was you who started pause buffering bosses in runs. And here's proof of that:

Anyway, I chose my own speedrun style and I will follow it to the end without adding questionable strategies that depend on the speed of the pausebuffering
Whoa. Anso, these "questionable strategies" literally are in your 100% record. Are you saying you took the 100% record through "questionable" means?
Obviously, pause buffering is only going to be situationally viable, and I would never pressure anyone to play with what I personally and subjectively find comfortable. I don't quite understand why the "speed of pause buffering" makes it questionable, either. Is shooting bullets questionable because not everyone mashes the same?
What are you even saying?
What I meant by questionable is that for me specifically, any strategy involving pausebuffering may result in more wasted time than you may be experiencing, mostly due to the difficulty of doing it with my bindings. As for 100%, pausebuffering on Cheetahman was a necessity because playing with Sonic the UFO phase is almost unplayable, but as you may have noticed, I spend a lot of time doing damage because it's just inconvenient and unpleasant for me.
I hadn't noticed and I'm not really interested what your preferences are. If you were confident enough to set a WR with these strats, you should stop acting like a child with a bruised ego.
