United StatesIt is clear PSVR has several advantages over non-PSVR, such as faster animations, ability to punch unarmed from behind (faster than subdue), ability to jump over barriers several floors up to ground without muffins.
With this in mind, future PSVR runs should be submitted to PSVR subcategory. Subcategories for non PSVR/ PSVR have also been added to extensions.
There are no WR runs that use PSVR exclusive tricks yet, but the potential is there.
Update to this topic for those curious- Given the results of the poll, and confirming rave on suit is a suit in contracts mode, we are inclined to allow club entrance for default start Berlin. Will also be allowing Radio Tower and Bus start as these two starts are farther from the targets than club entrance anyways.

Tranq glitch and druzhina arctic wallbang are put into a misc. category so they are invisible by default, but still being tracked for those curious. (yes it is very arbitrary to only consider those 2 tricks glitches, deal with it).
Future runs invalidated by patches will also go into this "No longer possible/ glitched" category. We don't have patches yet, this is just future proofing.
Edit: These rules apply for any% as well. Tranq glitch is useless in any%, but wallbangs could make any% very boring.
Tranq glitch and wallbang are also straight up banned from h3 extensions, similar policy to h2 extensions.
Any% should least of all be in extensions IL. Full game any% at least takes a tiny bit of effort.

Erich Soders and Sierra Knox also have some additional rules in place that may be odd to some, but this is due to the fact these are not normal NPC's.
The existing rules can be changed at a later date if there is good reason to do so, do not feel like the current rules are set in stone. For instance, additional arbitrary rules may be added to Season 3 maps as more is understood about them, as moderators see fit. Feedback on the extensions categories are encouraged.
Also keep in mind that if future patches make old runs on the extension boards impossible, those runs will be removed. There are already a ton of subcategories on the extension boards without making more for patches. Old patch runs will be kept for the main boards only.
If you would like to suggest new categories, please have a recorded run(s) ready to showcase the category proposal's potential first. You can post your video either in forums here or on Hitman Runs Discord, etc.
Please ensure your category proposal has logical rules with all edge cases worked out in advance, and it is not too similar to existing categories.
Adding new categories is left to moderator discretion and there is no guarantee your request will be approved.

Febuary 2022 Edit: We are currently are not accepting requests for new category extensions. There are plenty of existing categories to play.

- Good for more specific questions about a certain main mission speedrun strategy.
Frote's Server (server ran by Fortheseven aka Frote)
- Generally good Hitman knowledge, but not really focused on speedrunning main missions)

In the interest of having more complete and accurate leaderboards, the moderators will be submitting any public runs here on others' behalf, as is necessary. Moderators will ask permission before submitting any unlisted videos here.
People who do not want a particular run or runs here can make their displeasure known to one of the moderators here (my own social media links are on my profile), in which case the run will be anonymized (which is allowed by speedrun.com rules).

Default Loadout/ Start, other "extension" categories, and PSVR will need further evaluation to hash out the rules for these categories.
Until then, submit any Default/ PSVR/ etc runs like normal, they will be separated out into new subcategories later if needed.
Persistent shortcuts?
They will be allowed for SA, SASO, any% categories. The previous 2 Hitman games have always been NG+ speedruns, this should be no surprise to anyone.
We may be creating an "SA default" category in the future that is NG only (default start, loadout, no shortcuts), but this is still up to debate, no promises that will happen.
Submissions will be closed for a day or two until some cursory checking is done on how the rating system works, among other things.
Default, other extension, and PSVR categories will require some additional contemplating before being added.
There have been only two full game runs that I know of with no mastery/ default start.
One of the runs is on the regular SA leaderboards, the other run (and the WR holder for this arbitrary category) will not be uploaded to speedrun.com due to disapproval from the runner in question (cjgarof).
Given this, there is not really much demand, is there?
I may be persuaded to add the category IF you yourself route a decent no mastery SA full game run and upload it for my consideration.
This should be a requirement.... have a run ready to showcase from yourself BEFORE you ask for new categories. Thanks.
Due to the fact that difficulty changes very little about the any% category except in Bangkok exits, the decision has been made to remove difficulty as a variable for any%. Removing difficulty as a variable for any% has the benefits of decreasing redundant runs on multiple difficulties, as well as sticking to the idea any% should not involve any arbitrary restrictions
Due to speedrun.com UI limitations, we cannot assign difficulty to SA and not any% in full game, so for full game any% runs just submit to "professional", no matter what difficulty you played on.
Difficulty will remain a subcategory for SA and SASO runs.
This decision will carry over to Hitman 3 as well.
Effective immediately, any% runs will not be accepted on the H2 extension categories due to a general lack of effort and interest in them.
Edit: All any% submissions from the past are now rejected.
Again: You cannot submit any% runs to the H2 extension boards going forwards.
