I have to retract a previous praise I made to the site for widening the individual level leaderboard tables.

It seems that in the past hour the leaderboard is changed to have fat margins again, and those margins have ads everywhere even if you are signed in. And even with adblocker you will just see useless empty space on the margins now, forcing horizontal scrolling.

Frankly cringe change.

I'm actually quite happy with the new layout. I use an adblocker so I'm not bothered by any ads.

What I did like is they finally updated the IL tables to not have a ton of empty space on each side.

Due to a ton of submissions recently to Season 2 (no DLC), I have decided to just promote this category to main category. Also promoted patient zero to main category as we barely have enough room for all of them to fit on one line as is.

The results to the Season 2 poll were mixed, with 16 to 12 agreeing they should be a Hawke's Bay to Sgail category, but the votes were split into 8 wanting Hawke's Bay to Sgail to be a misc category and 8 wanting it to be a main category.

Decided to split the difference and add HB to Sgail as a misc. category, under "Season 2 (no DLC)" https://www.speedrun.com/hitman_3/full_game#Season_2_no_DLC

You answered your own question, there are way too many escalations to be added here. Will not be doing so.

UPDATE: Final decision I decided on is to introduce a minimum time penalty of 10 seconds to restarts. If you reset before 10 seconds into a level without changing starting location, 10 seconds penalty will be added for the reset. This will prevent endless cutscene restarts without penalty for it.

February 23, 2021 Update: Hitman 3 Patch 3.11 https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-3-february-patch-3-11/

Reminder: The philosophy behind leaderboard setup is that all runs in main category must be possible on current patch, for fair competition (there is no known way to downpatch, and play online to get a score). Old patch runs will be kept in main category as long as all parts of the run are still possible on current patch.

Changes relevant to these leaderboards: Some other stuff may come up, but for now, the main changes that appear to have come in the last update are:

• Druzhina wallbang is patched
• Out of bounds trick on train in Romania, this drop trick on Chongqing
• Berlin manhole exit is no longer usable. Note that provided the player still had green SA tracker at exit, then the time on timer HUD will be used instead and the run can be considered current patch.

Any runs using the latter 2 mechanics will be shifted to "Major glitches/ No longer possible" category, druzhina wallbang was already in this category.

In addition, a "no longer possible" category will be added to extensions as well to archive runs no longer possible on current patch.

UPDATE: After some deliberation, Patient Zero only will be added for now, as a misc. category (hidden normally, but you can click to reveal it).

If/ when people do future runs of H2 special assignments, "all side missions", or any other permutation involving side missions, these may be added as misc. categories.

All full game categories involving bonus missions are being put in misc. due to historical low interest in doing those missions in full game, short categories (for patient zero/ special assignments), and possible addition/ removal of bonus missions in future (holiday hoarders and snow festival).

In the future, if more interest is shown in these categories, and/or the game becomes stable with new DLC, maybe some can become main categories. No promises.

After like a day, I don't think much more responses are coming for default start poll. Reactions to both questions were pretty split, but I will lean towards keeping the rules as they are now, as I think the logic of "default menu when you open up the level" should be kept consistent.

Update on Default category: Created a "default NG" subcategory for default start/ loadout to satisfy the purist NG people, but only submit runs to the 8 levels where it makes a difference (Colorado, Hokkaido, Miami, 6 Season 3 levels except Dartmoor), thanks.
