I'm not necessarily the best guy for the job but I'll moderate X boards until someone better is found to do it. Give me a board, show me how to take runs from one site and move them over here. I'll do work. Don't believe me, just watch.
Awhile ago, you guys made me the moderator of the Twisted Metal series after I figured out the TM2 mod was AFK for way too long and couldn't verify my run. I've been able to do decent things with the series and get some new runners to submit runs. The only game I don't currently have control of though is Twisted Metal 4 and I'd like to ask to be made a moderator for that game as well. The current mod is JayTheIdiot and from what I can tell, he's not around a lot. I submitted a run two weeks ago that hasn't been verified, he hasn't been online here in three weeks, and seemingly hasn't done anything on Twitch since January.
It might be because the Minion runs are under the Miscellaneous tab on the TM2 boards. That'd be my guess.
I checked Twisted Metal and Twisted Metal 2. Both games have "Shown by default" enabled.
I deleted the two variables that I had made for Twisted Metal (Character, Difficulty) and my run showed up. I started re-adding variables. I didn't have a problem with Difficulty at all. I added Character and Thumper and that worked. Once I added more than one character to the Character variable and set Sweet Tooth to the default, that's when my run stops showing up.
I asked Luiz last Friday if he'd have someone verify my X3 time on this site. Find out today that the X3 boards got wiped instead. Maybe it's time to get some new mods for the X games.
Thanks for opening my eyes to subcategories. They're really great.
I have another question for you guys regarding the TM boards, maybe it's a general question too though. IDK if this happens on other boards or not. I submitted a run recently to Twisted Metal's Tournament - Easy board. It shows up in my profile but when I look at the board itself, it says no runs. Did I submit incorrectly? Is there something I can do to fix this?
Medium is pretty hard to finish without a game over. I doubt I could do it. Using the password system allows people to finish runs. They won't be as fast as Aqua's obviously 'cause he never dies but such is life.
As an incentive/reward, I'll make a category for Minion as soon as somebody submits a Hard run. I was going to do it anyway but this is more fun, plus it gives me time to work on the Small Brawl board.
Yeah, you can use a password to get back to a level after you've lost all your lives. That's what I do since I'm not as big of a badass as Aqualung over here. Just keep the timer running and it's fine.
I'm not sure if this is an acceptable place for me to say this or if you'd all prefer it done on another thread but I'd personally like to see my runs on both Speedrun.com and Megamanleaderboards.net. As it stands now, I have a Mega Man X3 run awaiting verification on this site that has already been verified on the other site. I'd like someone to verify it for me or barring that, allow me to verify it myself.
The rules don't say when to start or end the timer. What do you prefer?
I tried playing as Minion in Tournament (Hard). As it turns out, playing as Minion means you don't have to fight Minion in Amazonia. That's not super fair for the other characters who end up having that extra boss fight to deal with. I'm thinking we should not allow Minion to be played in the normal categories. Maybe we could make a category for Minion though. What do you guys think?
What's the difference between a category and a sub-category? I don't know.
I didn't see any runs on the boards when I got here. There were two submitted that I had to look at. One was an Axel run that looked ok but I ended up changing all the categories around. Another was a co-op run but I couldn't find the video. I just put a run of TM2 on Easy up that someone can probably beat if they want to.
You should totally run Twisted Metal 2. I've been dying for another run to watch since they made me moderator.
No clue. I didn't even know there was a PC version of this game until I looked it up on Wikipedia the other day. I don't think I've ever seen anyone play it either.
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how to make the Twisted Metal boards decent. Everyone do me a favor and run the game a bunch of times so I have submissions to look at. Also, give me suggestions as to how I can make the boards super neat.
Hey, I see I've been made moderator of Twisted Metal 2. It kind of also looks like I'm moderator of the series in general. Moderating anything is new to me so I'd like to get some feedback on how to do it correctly. I definitely see some room for improvement on those boards; I'd like to clear up rules, add or change categories, add games, etc. I need to know what I'm capable of doing, what I'm allowed to do, if I need to talk with anyone before making changes, etc. I'll definitely be the moderator if you all want me to, just help me be good at it.
The mod for the Twisted Metal series seems to have been offline for a year at least and there's some pending runs that need to be judged.
