There’s the B A R R Y code but it’s not allowed in runs
Go to the right side of the platform and face left. Right as Mario touches the wall gently lap left a couple times until you zip into the wall. Don’t mash too fast or you’ll walk off
Twin Famicom is so much better than the usual FDS setup

To answer your question, I had played several zapper games at a high level for a little under a year before I got the kill screen. You're not wrong when you say it's extremely difficult but the soul shattering comes when you miss a duck in the 80's or 90's. I could make some fantastic story about my journey but I got it after grinding for 5 days or so with all my zapper experience. And for the second part, Game C loops after round 99 and I'm only aware of one person doing that with video evidence. GG on round 63, don't be discouraged
The blue bar indicates how many ducks you need to shoot in that round. When the round is over the duck icons at the bottom move to the left and if the hit ducks are equal or higher than the bar you pass the round
This is a complicated topic and it’s come up numerous times. It’s debatable that being closer gives any advantage/ disadvantage, but there’s more factors than just that. What about the size of the tv and the brightness level on the screen? Then there’s the issue of proving that it’s actually 6 feet. Plus making a mandatory zapper cam with measurements definitely won’t look appealing to newcomers to the game. I really think the kill screen category should have these stricter rules in place since only a few people are crazy enough to go for it anyway. Perhaps if you’re going for a certain time (ex. Sub 2:55) it could be mandatory? At a time where emulator runs are still allowed on the main leaderboard, its just hard to set the rules straight and keep it fair for everyone at the same time
Hello. I would like to become a mod for operation wolf (NES) https://www.speedrun.com/Operation_Wolf_NES . The only mod hasn't submitted a run on any games in over 7 months and has been inactive on speedrun.com for a month now. I tried reaching out to him several times but I never got any responses. I moderate several other NES zapper games and the zapper discord server. I'm online several times daily and have modded other games for over a year so I believe I'm up to the task
Would an NES repro of VS Hogan’s alley be allowed?
The zapper community now has an official discord server. Everyone is welcome to join https://discord.gg/yWaCXYs
If you beat your pb you can just delete the previous runs before they get verified
I didn’t have permanent fireball at this point. When I entered the portal I went in a like a 45’ angle from the bottom. At the 1:00 mark I do a regular glide jump and instead of flying like in the comparison video, I glide super fast and far but not upward. In the second video it appears that Spyro glides like he’s in the last phase of the fight but with the boundaries of the first phase. I don’t even know how I’d explain what happened to me if I didn’t have a video. Oh, and one last thing to note is that it wouldn’t let me pause the game
Before I start Ill say that I was playing on an original PS1 and an official disk. I don't know if this is a glitch that can be triggered or if it was just luck but I was able to fly in Riptos arena without using cheat codes. I was practicing offline and recorded as soon as I could. I used the swimming in the air glitch to get into Ripto early. When I got in the stage Ripto started shooting fire right away while the text boxes were still up. When I re spawned I kept dying in one hit but it seemed that I had unlimited lives. My charging was a glitchy mess and to fly I just used to normal double jump trick but held down the buttons. I know this won't help at all with Ripto but if it could be triggered in other areas I'm sure it could be beneficial
The first part of the set up was correct but the last shell was supposed to be on the right not the left. Listen to what Falcon said about the pipe clip. The last step during the glitch scroll. When Mario is scrolling down you need to hold down+right and press jump when he comes out the pipe on the bottom. If everything is done correctly you should trigger the ending cutscene
I agree. Perhaps if the time is a good one we’ll have to crack down to see what’s up. No one has submitted anything with any form of LDC modification so far so I suppose this’ll come up again if anyone decides to do so
Those are what I meant. I also heard that you might need a third party zapper for the second one. I’m pretty sure they said you need to modify an original or use an alternative. Does the public have access to these ROMs and adapters or are they still in beta?
If we had a source that said 1987 I’d say we go with that. I don’t think it’s too big of a deal. I’ll take a look but I don’t remember finding much about it when I was researching it a few weeks ago
