Dang my first try to try and beat it full game record time and my internet crashed which forced me out my game.

Just completed a Casual NG+ 1:45:20 Console run. Is there a strat to speed up the first lycan encounter time?

A recent video was posted that showed if you minimize your movement and aiming, the first lycan encounter is actually faster. I haven't tried it for myself yet, but I'm willing to try anything.

I too just saw that, I am going to mess around and see if I can get my time down any in this section. I generally take an arrow to the knee around 9:20 but I saw Maxylobes get it around 9:10- 9:13 so I definitely need to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

NG+ Casual NMG speedrun in 1:43:05 RTA / 1:33:33 IGT on PS4 HDD, sub 133 could be possible on my side, will probably keep pushing for it.

I'm an RE4 runner and I'm wanting to run Village NG VoS. I have some questions

How are we skipping cutscenes? Just with P and Enter? Or is there a way to change the input to one button to skip cutscenes like we do in RE4?

Also, are there any strats for the first lycan encounter? I'm watching as many runs as possible to try to figure it out. Do we just gotta fight him or is there any actual strats? I tried to kill him but it seems pretty hard.

If you're referring to the lycan that bites Ethan's fingers off, you can run around him on the left and grab the boltcutters, which will despawn him. The one in the barn needs to be killed to progress, that one just tanks a lot of damage

1:29:38 ng+ ps4 my objective of the sub 1:30:00 has been reached now I go to the run knife only UwU

Édit: after doing a run knife onli I realize that it is quite boring so I stay on ng + and Esseyer to fair 1:27:00, I realized more that there is a lot of strategy that I was not doing.

@Londrekia_senpai Congrats! Glad to know that it’s possible on console. Can’t wait to see your runs! My PB is hovering around 1:39 so I can’t wait to see what time saves I’m missing!

@REactually As far as skipping cutscenes I am just hitting Esc and F but I don't think it's quite as important in this one because the timer stops during any skippable cutscenes anyway, so you can be slow on the draw or even watch the whole thing if you want to.

@Londrekia_senpai VERY nice job!! I am on PC and my current record is only like 1:33:00ish but I messed up a ton, my current goal is sub 1:30:00 also. Maybe I will copy you and try a knife run when I hit that goal.

Call me insane (and I don’t stream my trial runs) but I mapped out after Flask 2, and I think I can (through careful restarting and trial and error) get a run under an hour. Replicating it will be MAD. I am missing one piece of the puzzle lol (mapping out between Killing Moreau and killing Heisenberg). If I found that link I could put together a run under an hour. Bet.

Is there a different speed run for console or do they all fit into the same category

Anyone else going to be doing NG+ on ps5? I think I might take it up as my first ever run, but I am maybe needing help as what to do on the actual submitting and this forum side of things! As well as maybe timing stuff.

Yeah Have got live split sorted... At least, kinda haha. Is a bit complicated but trying to figure stuff out when theres time and things. Is Console going from Real Time? Have watched a lot of speed runs but never done so myself so is a small bit overwhelming at the mo haha. I only plan to do it casually rather than competative

OMG I was trying to hit sub 1:30 and ended up hitting 1:31:00 flat.

I'm not even upset about the parts I botched, I'm more pissed off that I don't understand what I'm doing wrong in the first beginning horde event section. My best time ever is 9:20 and I can't even get that anymore, usually get around 9:25 or 9:26. I have watched maxylobe's 1:26:xx run and I start the event at the SAME time he does, or maybe a second later, and then I try to copy EVERYTHING he does and yet he ends up at 9:13 and I end up at 9:26, I just don't get it. I've experimented with FPS changes, V-sync, standing still and causing the spawns to stop, etc. I even had one run glitched where I just sat there forever and the arrow or arm never even came. For the life of me though I can't figure out why I'm a solid 15+ seconds behind during this section....

@Watsonator I end the horde at 10:12, how do you manage to finish it so quickly?

I got 1'55'49 on PS5 NG+ Casual on my first run, no idea if thats decent. Is also the IGT and I have no idea about what timings are being used. But it was fun for a first run and I can see where I can do better, So I look forward trying to get better

@Londrekia_senpai not sure what we could be doing different off the top of my head, this is the route I'm trying to follow though if you wanna check the first 10 min or so:

edit: you will see that right when he gets the arrow to the knee he is at 9:13 and someone in chat says they got a consistent 9:10 every time. Maxy and I both shoot the Lycan on the roof ~ 5:30 (I kinda suck so mine is usually like 5:31 or 5:32). I follow exactly what he does during the event, then he somehow ends a good 15 seconds ahead of me. /shrug

edit2: I somehow just managed a 9:14 after trying a bunch of random stuff. This time I just hung out near Urias spawn and stared at the fence. I had to turn to the left a bit to kill Lycans and then turn to the right to kill Urias, but it seemed to be the best time I could manage. I'm just happy I somewhat figured out how to do it, I just need to see if it's consistent.
