Hey guys. I am looking to pick this game up, mostly for learning tricks and just having fun with it. Eventually I might run it, but for now its more about the skill for me.
So my question is what version should I use? I need an English version (my roommate wants to play casually) That I can still do all the staple tricks like Dot Skip, All the Escapes, The super slides, Any item Ocarina, the bottle tricks/ww's things like that. I would also like something I can boat skip in but tbh that is a long way off so not a big deal.
Will the Wii vc or WiiU VC work for this? and if so is there some instructions somewhere to get the proper versions?
Thanks a bunch in advance by the way to anyone who can help!
English and Japanese are functionally the same except for text so English can do all glitches JP can do across 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2.
That being said, I highly recommend against using English for runs. The text is incredibly slow compared to JP and it really won’t let you get competitive times at all. I also wouldn’t recommend WiiU VC as it has some nasty input lag on it. Wii VC is a better option and is what most people use.
If you want resources on homebrewing a Wii, I’d recommend joining the discord as that’s a better place to see resources than here.
Most categories are fastest on Wii VC now due to recent discoveries, and you can homebrew both the English and JP versions of the game onto your Wii console, as well as the practice ROM. Again like Timm said, join the discord where we can more quickly answer your questions.
