[obsolete] Troubleshoot - How to capture PPSSPP with OBS

Maybe, if you tried to capture any of this emulator games you probadly had just black box.
And here's your solution.
In PPSSPP setting change your backend to anything, BUT NOT Vulkan, only cause of it you can't record it normally.
After doing this, reset source in OBS, in PPSSPP go to settings again ( just go, don't do anything ) and now it works.
I didn't find any solutions in the net, so it is probadly gonna be useful for runners.

Info - How to Create and Use Starter Saves

# What is a Starter Save?
In the context of GTA LCS and VCS speedruns, a Starter Save is a save file that is clean from any "NewGame+" effects (that carry over between save files and into a new game). It is used to start full game speedruns with customized settings, in order to prevent being forced to waste time adjusting control, audio and display options while the timer is running. This is because these settings are stored within the save files, rather than in a separate configuration file.

# How to Create a Starter Save:
**1.** If the game is already running, close it.

**2.** Delete all existing save files.

**3.** Boot the game.

**4.** If no save files are detected, a new game will be started automatically -> progress to __step 5__. If there are still save files one of them will be loaded -> redo from __step 1__.

**5.** Complete the first mission and __**only**__ the first mission, without messing around in the game.

**6.** If the first mission, and nothing else, was successfully completed -> progress to __step 7__. If the first mission was failed or anything apart from the first mission was completed -> redo from __step 1__.

**7.** Pause the game and apply the preferred settings you wish to run with under the Controls, Audio and Display menus.  
Note that on PSP the language can only be switched by changing your system's language setting (on the console or in the emulator itself).

**8.** Save the game into the __**last**__ (8th) slot on the bottom of the save screen.
Your Starter Save is now complete.

# Important Notes Before Starting a Speedrun:
- You can only start full game speedruns either from this starter save (but only if it's loaded automatically after booting the game) or with no saves at all!
- You always need to delete saves from previous attempts and then reboot the game. The game should then load your starter save automatically. If this is not the case, you still have other, unwanted save files!
- If you want to modify your starter save, first delete any other saves and reboot the game. After the starter save is loaded automatically, you can adjust your preferred settings and overwrite the starter save.
- When in doubt, recreate the starter save from scratch!

# Category Definition

Like every other III-era GTA's, Vice City Stories uses a completion point system for determining percentage completed.  
The PSP versions have a total of **223 completion points**, while this number is **240 in the PS2 versions**.  
The "Percentage completed" stat in the game is calculated by dividing the player's current completion points by the total points of the respective version.

The goal of the 100% categories is to complete **every single objective that gives the player a completion point**. This is NOT the same as reaching 100% completion in the stats menu!

# Important Notes

1. Due to a mechanism built into the game code, the player will be awarded an additional completion point when completing the second-to-last objective, reaching 100% completion in the stats before actually completing the last objective that gives a completion point. (The only exception is when the runner's last remaining objective is a Rampage or a Unique Stunt.) However, **the last objective MUST also be completed in order for the run to be legit. IF THIS IS MISSED, THE RUN WILL BE INVALIDATED.**

2. The player **MUST take over at least 1 'Drugs' type empire site after completing 'From Zero to Hero' but before completing 'Hostile Takeover'**. If this is missed, the runner WILL lock themself out of receiving a completion point for unlocking 'Drugs' type sites, thus invalidating their run.

3. The player should NOT take over every 'Drugs', 'Smuggling' and/or 'Robbery' type empire sites before the completion of 'From Zero to Hero'. Doing so can potentionally lock the player out of unlocking these empire types, making it impossible to receive multiple completion points.

4. The player MUST NOT skip (e.g. via duping) the levels of side missions that award the player completion points. Doing so will lock the player out of receiving a completion point for completing the skipped level. This applies to:

- Level 1 of 'Extortion', 'Loan Shark', 'Pimping', 'Drug Running', 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery'
- Level 15 of 'Extortion', 'Loan Shark' and 'Pimping'
- Level 6 of 'Drug Running', 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery'
- Level 15 of 'Air Rescue', 'Beach Patrol', 'Fire Fighter', 'Paramedic' and 'Vigilante'

5. The player MUST NOT skip any storyline missions (e.g. via duping OR CurrentMissionChain variable manipulation by going om0 OR "Act Cleanup Bypass" aka "PACB" aka "Save Glitch"). Doing so will lock the player out of receiving a completion point for the skipped mission.

# Objectives

The following objectives give the player completion points (ie count towards 100% completion):

**completing each of the 59 Story Missions - i.e. they can't be skipped (59)**

**Empires**

- completing level 1 of each empire mission - i.e. level 1 can't be skipped (6)
- completing level 15 of 'Extortion', 'Loan Shark' and 'Pimping' each - i.e. level 15 can't be skipped (3)
- completing level 6 of 'Drug Running', 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery' each - i.e. level 6 can't be skipped (3)
- building one of each empire type in 'High Roller' size (6)
- completing the first successful empire takeover (1)
- taking over a 'Drugs' type empire site after 'From Zero to Hero' but before 'Hostile Takeover' (1)
- taking over a 'Smuggling' and 'Robbery' type empire sites at any point after 'From Zero to Hero' (2)
- simultaneously possessing any 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and all 30 empire sites (6)

**Vehicle Missions**

- completing level 15 of 'Air Rescue', 'Beach Patrol', 'Fire Fighter', 'Paramedic' and 'Vigilante' - i.e. level 15 can't be skipped (5)
- completing (all 5 levels of) 'Fire Copter' and 'Vice Sights' (2)
- completing a total of 50 fares OR earning a total of $5,000 in 'Taxi Driver' (1)

**passing each of the Checkpoint Challenge side missions**

- 'Playground on the Point' (1)
- 'Playground on the Town' (1)

**passing each of the Time Trial side missions**

- 'Crims on Wings' (1)
- 'Haiti Hover Race' (1)
- 'Harbor Hover Race' (1)
- 'Land, Sea and Air Ace' (1)
- 'Mashin' Up the Mall' (1)
- 'Skywolf' (1)

**Multi-Level Time Trials**

- passing each of the 8 'BMX Time Trials' levels (8)
- passing each of the 4 'Quad Bike Time Trials' levels (4)

obviously with pacb, the vector is not reset  
so all -999 left there still remain there  
and because of pacb, the mission strand targets are also not reset  
so basically this array is fucked  
but I dunno yet how this messes everything up

I tested Chapter 2 mission orders to see if anything was skipped. I did every Forbes Mission, then every Lance then Every Uberto and none were skipped. Then I did the reverse (U->L->F) and still none were skipped  
So whatever is causing us to skip some missions in Chapter 3 doesn't happen in Chapter 2 (unless it's more complicated than what I tested)

okay this array manages skipped missions and mission unlocks  
each value refers to one mission and it's a counter  
I don't really get how it works but when this counter reaches 0 for a mission, it is able to unlock other missions  
but since after act 1 most counters are at 0 and pacb doesn't reset them to 1 and then to whatever is required (it skips directly to setup cut mission skips), all of the missions get unlocked  
Except Diaz, because act 3 has so many missions that it lands on a section where the counters aren't 0 yet  
and because the array isn't reset properly, it keeps writing "skip this mission" traps  
Which makes it skip some of the missions in act 3 unless the mission that actually unlocks it is complete (dunno how this last part works either)
