Mod request

Hey guys,

I know the game has not been really active these past months, however, I still would like to be granted the role of mod. The main reason is because it has been more than a week since my run has been submitted, but it has still not been reviewed and I think that the presence of a more active mod would be beneficial to this page (no offense to the other mods).

( In addition, I really like to speedrun this game, and I would love to help new players to compete in it. )

I agree. My run has still not been approved and I uploaded it like 3 days ago.

I've been meaning to request mod for this game for a while as well. The level of inactivity for the mods isn't too horrible (with the exception of Yocko), but considering the current mod team for this game is all located in Europe, I think it would be great to have a mod located in the Western Hemisphere - that way one mod can manage the page while the others are inactive.

I'm basically on this site 24/7 and have a high level of moderation experience, so I'd be more than glad to help out with moderation on this page.

@sdf 3 days in verification really isn't that long at all; usually it's a problem when runs haven't been verified in a few weeks.

@plank yea I know it’s not to bad but I do think more mods would still be nice

You have to keep in mind it the time around the holidays so it would make sense that runs have not been approved for a bit around this time of year. For a game as inactive as this one there isn't a point to have a huge mod team. The time difference of 12 hours for the mod team being in Europe isn't really a significant argument (an Yocko's location is Chile which is South America). TheJayJay has been active and approved runs quickly and accurately in the past (my guess is he is on holiday), but he doesn't have the highest mod role and the other two have been fairly inactive over the course of the past 2 years so some changes have been hard to make.

Also to be completely frank none of you really have enough knowledge/experience of the game mechanics and such to be able to properly verify runs in terms of cheating or stuff (not saying you can't mod in terms of retime and such).

IMO you should give it some time for runs to be verified, and if you haven't made an attempt to contact any of the mods after a week+ of not verified than you really can't complain about needing to be mod. No action needs to be taken until I would say 3-4 weeks especially at this time of year.

I don’t want to be mod I’m just saying that an extra mod would be nice. But I see both sides on how a mod would be good but that it’s not needed.

moderation can be requested after 3 weeks and multiple contacts with mod. 1 week is not enough to justify you getting mod. If every single mod was inactive for a month and you tried to contact them and they didn't respond, that would enable a mod request on this forum: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/dueac

Thanks for the answers !

Hey all, I apologize for also being inactive - I've been taking some time off of Speedrunning to focus on other things going on in my life, but that was mostly related to me doing attempts for runs so I really have no excuse for not verifying runs. I'll make sure to check the verification tab daily.

As for requesting moderation, as stated in this forum if we were to accept any new mods we'd want runners with vast knowledge of the game and categories.

Apologies again, happy new year everyone!
