Run Requirement Question

So I recently got told an engine that may allow me to post runs from the camera as long as I import the camera videos into the engine and then to here. SO, I have decided I would make my first run, originally I was going to do the Snowgrave route, but then I realized if you lose to Tasque Manager you get sent all the way to the "Oh no Rouxls is stone" cutscene, so I switched to see what I could do in Chapter 4, and went to All Bosses. (Because I wanted to do a run on just Tenna and I'm not doing Chapter 3 all bosses because the Weather Duo is really hard for me). I also realized it only said Hammer Of Justice and the Titan were required, so I was kind of confused, does that mean you somehow have to skip Jackenstein? My two questions here are: Is Jackenstein also a boss you must fight for this run, and why is text box skipping banned? (Oh, and one more sorry!: Can you use the bed skip to go from Kris' Bedroom to the Church Dark World?)

  • When the rules say those bosses "are required", it means that, if there were ways to skip the other battles the run would still be valid, but you still always HAVE to fight those bosses specifically. In Jackenstein's case, he's not required to fight for All Bosses rules, but we have to fight him anyway because there's no way to skip him (yet?)

  • Manually mashing text without using the automasher is currently banned in All Chapters / CH3 / CH4 because it's very strenuous on your hands and we don't want to encourage that in order to get top times. Using the automasher by itself is still allowed.

  • Yes, sleeping at the start of each chapter is allowed if you have completion data.

Oh ok. Thanks for telling me! (Also just saying but the button mash is easier on Switch, or maybe that's just me, but it's also faster on Switch too because B and A is the X and Z thing, and ZL is Enter, except I figured out this doesn't work on computer as well and that makes you go through like 20 or something text boxes a second or so. (I did this in Chapter 1, my hands must be sturdy or something because I was fine until the end although for that reason that makes sense so thanks for telling me.)) Also one more question, it says no text box skip "past 15 boxes a second" so does that mean that you CAN do it just not to fast or something?

Romania

Yes, but the automasher does 15 textboxes per second anyway, so there's no point in not using it.

Not if you only skip one or two text boxes at a time. (But ok thanks for the info this really helps a lot)

Ok idea: what if I tape down the B button on my joy con (X on computer)? Then if I press A a few times(Z on computer), it skips the text even faster than manually mashing both buttons, and it also makes you auto-run without auto-run set to on since the B button is always down. (Would this technically be valid? I see no rule downvoting tape, I think it should count but I don’t moderate so I don’t know)

United States

manual mashing is not allowed. just hold down the menu button (C on PC), it is way simpler than trying to mash and doesn't risk your run being rejected.

United States

I don’t understand why anyone would want to manually mash in the first place, it only really saves frames and strains your hands

If you do it for an entire run it can save a few seconds but hardly worth it imo
