Greetings. I have a question, if an admin could help me: Yesterday I sent two updates of my record in MK8D speedrun. In the afternoon I managed to beat my own record (that I had two years ago):
and by the evening, I had beaten it again:
So I sent both applications and both were rejected.
The message I received was the following: “Rejected: please submit a highlight of your run, we do not accept past broadcasts. Version: Cartridge. Played on Switch on 8 Jun 2021 Submitted by YFM.mx on 8 Jun 2021 Rejected by SnipinG117 on 9 Jun 2021
If you could please explain me why am I being asked to upload the highlight of my races if every other video in the world records are exactly like mine. Is it because it was a past broadcast? As I explained, my record is from yesterday, then I don’t understand why I am being asked something different. This isn’t the first I upload a record like this, so the process seemed to be familiar to me. If something has changed, please be so kind to explain how it needs to be uploaded. Also, take into consideration that English is not my first language, so I may be missing what the translation of highlight means in this context.
you should message the mods, they will be WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY better at answering than any of us random people in the general forums
If you submitted the run as a twitch past broadcast, that would be rejected because twitch past broadcasts aren't permanent videos.
I believe that Twitch has a specific “highlight” function that allows you to permanently save that video. The mods want you to submit a permanent record.
Both of these are Youtube videos. Those tend to be permanent. Idk about Youtube streaming though, does it have a distinction between highlights and past broadcasts the way Twitch does?
