A DreamHack Hello!

Hi everyone!

My name is Jonathan "Ivrae" Ciantar, though I usually just go by Jon or Ivrae and I'm the new Speedrunning Manager for DreamHack NA!

I've been a huge fan of Speedrunning since the Justin.tv / SDA / Twin Galaxy days, but was never very successful at doing any runs myself. I mostly messed around with Star Fox 64 high scores and horrifyingly bad Majora's Mask "runs" for fun with the little free time I had available.

But being such a huge fan of Speedrunning and working with DreamHack allowed me to connect once again with runners and the Score/Speedrunning community as a whole.

Some of my personal favourite speed/score games ATM are StarFox 64, OoT, and Starcraft 2. Mostly nostalgia games for me these days.

But what I'm really here for is the community and what you guys get excited about. I'd love to hear about peoples successes, your PBs, or the new amazing trick you and your community found.

I don't want this post to come across as business-y, I'm genuinely excited to be part of something within Speedrunning. I hope to be able to provide support and exciting opportunities to those interested.

Feel free to hit me up with any questions or even just cool stuff. I like cool stuff.

TLDR: Hi.

Valhalla

I know you're kinda here just to see what's going on and maybe catch some cool runs, and that you've run stuff in the past, but do you plan on doing any runs of your own? If so, what would you consider running? If not, that's perfectly understandable, I was just curious.

Boy this response got delayed (I blame Subnautica: BZ release mostly) but at the moment I don't have plans to run anything myself. It's just really hard to fit in a hobby that requires the amount of time and focus Speedrunning does for me currently. Also all my consoles are packed away unfortunately :(
