Would really love a category for things like the Kugane jumping puzzle, leap of faiths and such.

I also wanna express my interest in having a category for official jumping puzzles. Here's the current list of the ones I believe to be relevant:

Moonfire Tower Shiokaze Hostelry aka Kugane Tower Radz-at-Han Empyreum Towers (1, 2, 3, 4) Shirogane Lighthouse Rhalgr's Reach

Gold saucer GATEs: Cliffhanger - Mount Corel
 Cliffhanger - El Coloso
Leap of Faith - The Fall of Belah'dia
Leap of Faith - The Falling City of Nym Leap of Faith - Sylphstep

Leap of Faith could potentially have Any% and 100% categories, but each course can have a ton of different variations, so listing Leap feels a bit pointless to me personally, as it requires a huge RNG factor to get the shortest configuration. That being said, I'm not opposed to it if other people are interested.

It would be nice if a category was added for the new Deep Dungeon, Eureka Orthos. I also think DDs in general need some clarification about how the timer needs to be handled (right now it's about 50/50 if someone's doing RTA or IGT)

I'd like to second Finh's requests. Our group is putting together some competitive times for 1-10 / 1-50 / 1-100 Coop for Eureka Orthos, and we're ready to upload in at least a couple of those categories (we'd like to work our 1-100 time down a little more first)

We'd also like clarification about RTA vs IGT. We've assumed RTA the whole time (and I think Finh has too?) but I think some runs have had breaks which were not counted against them. We'd like clarification here because it has strategy implications (as a minor example, with pre-sprinting, if it's IGT we might wait for sprints to come back up between floor sets)

(If it's IGT, we'd also have to recalculate most of our runs so far by summing up the time for each floorset)

Same as Finh and enoonyllaer, I'd also like clarifiction about RTA vs IGT for Deep Dungeon speedruns. I've done a couple of Solo HoH 1-100 speedruns on various jobs, in which all of them I've just used RTA because that was what I assumed was used.

Another thing I'd like to request for the DD leaderboards is to add a column that shows which job was used, like how it's shown in the Level Leaderboards.

To make an argument one way or another, I think RTA is slightly better than IGT for DD runs, as there is still a bit of optimization in between floorsets to maximize time save ("double exits" on f30/f100, menuing efficiently, etc.)

Pinging again about adding Eureka Orthos to the deep dungeon full game categories. We've got a reasonably good run for 1-100 Coop () as well as some good times for 1-10 and 1-50. I know Finh and AngelusDemonus also have some nifty solo 1-100 runs.

Hello, new to Speed running and still a sprout, but my friends and I were considering putting up a run for the Praetorium Coop Synched. I see that the current record there is for old Prae. My question is that do I still submit a run for Praetorium Coop Synched? Or will there be a separate run for New Praetorium?

Can we please have a light party split category? I’m tired of people topping with people with more than 4 people. Obviously an 8 man will beat a 4 man team easily.

I run with mostly 3-4 people, seeing 5+ taking a title cause they have more people is disheartening.

Hi, this is a very specific question but I wanted to ask it anyways. So I have just submitted the first run for an Ultimate duty, and I was wondering if specific rules could be applied to Ultimates due to the nature of them. Currently, Ultimates have to follow the same rules as every other duty where the time of the run is determined by the in-game timer, which means that if your team wipes and you don't re-instance, the time of the pulls you wiped on are still added to the whole run. I wanted to post this to ask if the rules for Ultimates could be changed to only time the pull where you kill the boss, and I ask this because of how difficult Ultimates are. I also ask this because I feel like there isn't anybody who plays FFXIV who would be doing Ultimates in a group of 8 solely for speedrunning and then re-instancing after every wipe. A suggestion would maybe be to have IGT on the leaderboard be the time of the pull, while the regular Time be the time of the entire instance?

I would love to see a chocobo racing category, one for each track

Can we get a Porta Decumana category? every other instance in ARR has a leaderboard but not this one. Maybe i just dont see it :D

do you think we could possibly get a pvp section? i've kept records for the various pvp modes (general leaderboard below) and i believe it would bring some good new competition to the pvp scene. all pvp games show a timer at the very end, so runs could potentially be easily verifiable. only major problem i see is crediting; pvp is a team mode, and the person that submits the run isn't necessarily the "speedrunner" in the traditional sense.

I'm not sure if a timer on PVP would be the greatest thing. Mostly due to the fact you're in a group of multiple other people against other people.

Can Brayflox's Longstop, Haukke Manor, Thousand Maws and Dzemael Darkhold category have a subcategory option for "after 6.1" and have shown category default to after 6.1 changes?

These dungeons changed by: Brayflox's Longstop: Map layout adjusted (players can no longer run over the water in section before salamander boss) Dzemael Darkhold: The route through the dungeon has been adjusted, and the positioning of certain treasure coffers has been changed accordingly. Haukke Manor: After the battle with the manor steward and manor jester, an object allowing players to warp back to the starting point will now appear. Thousand Maws: Extensive changes to general progression through the dungeon have been implemented.

Patch notes can be seen here (will auto-find section if opened on chrome) https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/topics/detail/c73cd284013587066d8f9e697fab1db9f007372c/#:~:text=following%20dungeons%20and%20trials

Was wondering, could there be a category for Solo (Duty Support) ARR MSQ up to first credits?

Right now the ARR category involves going to the end of 2.55, however, that's not possible to do with just duty support, which makes running it dependent on other people for those trials. If there were a category that just stopped at first credits, then the only variance would be overworld mobs and stuff. Then enforce no mail bonuses and no Road to 80 to remove pay-to-win aspects as well as dependency on preferred servers.

It'd need a lot of rules and decision-making to rule out having another person assist by killing mobs faster, but I think it'd be a more appealing category than all the way to end of 2.55, due to it being both shorter and more consistent. It'd still be a long run compared to other games, but this could be a good shot at having a proper to-credits running scene like other games do.

United States

That's definitely been floated previously and ultimately we decided not to do it (citing there being tons of categories already, limited interest, etc.). But if there's particular interest, it's a reasonable request. Personally I'd love to see it considering I have those runs ready for submission already as part of the "Trust Bounty" competition some of us participated in a couple years ago.

United Kingdom

It's partially because of how many categories there are, that I suggested it again counterintuitively. MSQ SB/ShB/EW have so so many variations of categories and most of them have 0 submissions. There could be many reasons for this, the time it takes being one of them.

Everyone knows that dutyfinder is faster than trusts if people are atleast half awake. This means that you are entirely at the mercy of the randomness of relying on strangers, which takes away large amounts of skill for just luck. But because dutyfinder can be quicker than trusts, you have to use it. Additionally, after base ARR MSQ, you still need to use dutyfinder for trials, as there's no duty support for 8-man trials (except that one specific one at the end).

However, there is support for all of base ARR, many quests have been cut, and we have waking sands teleport tickets. DPS was never viable because queue times are miserable, but with duty support it becomes viable which is good because there are more dps classes in base arr than there are tank/healers combined. Sure, there will always be the best class to play, but for the start it opens more possibilities until the best gets worked out.

I'm a nobody who mainly just watches other people speedrun, so I know my word won't mean much of anything. I would be willing to submit a run or two for a trust category (though it'd be pretty bad), as just proof of believing in this idea and not just suggesting something without also contributing.
