Hi, I've been wanting to try playing this game for years now! And I've also been wanting to try speedrunning it as well, but i don't know how to get the game! My pc doesn't have a disc drive and I'm unable to get one installed. And I'm not so sure that I trust those USB disc drives. Is there any way for me to play this game?
USB disk drives are fine if you want to buy and play the game legally. However, if this becomes too much of a hassle, I recommend just pirating it. The game's from 2003 and wasn't meant to work on anything past Windows XP.
Also, you'll have to use dgVoodoo2 to modify some things so the game can run on modern operating systems. Check out the guide for this: https://www.speedrun.com/eotm/guides/zeor6, and follow the steps listed under "DgVoodoo".
If you want to know my dgVoodoo settings, here they are:
- General / Output API: Direct3D 12 (feature level 12.0)
- DirectX / Resolution: 1042x768
- DirectX / dgVoodoo Watermark: Unchecked

As of today, September 8 2023, the variable Slot Pull has been revoked. It served as an unnecessary way to filter out runs and served no real purpose outside of a quick spectacle of a runners' luck. Positions of all current runs won't be affected by this change.
