2 quick tips: Major Neobabel skip (E2M7); Quick & consistent setup for Jakob boss fight (E3M10)

The Neobabel skip shoots the button in the left teleporter's room that opens up the right teleporter which leads you to the exit. The crossbow flies all the way across the huge map, which is why the lineup is so precise. This strat even done slowly can probably saves 7+ seconds, but can easily save 10+ since you're already in this position and are skipping so much of the map.

The exact mechanics of Jakob's xbow blocker are still unknown, but this lineup was just found by ViciousGardel to consistently start the fight early with just 1 shot. This is a strat that can take 90% of Jakob's health from the same position, and together these strats make the fight much faster and more consistent. More details are in the video description for the lineup and for tips to execute/optimize. Shoutout Gardel o7

Coming free from the C1M1 Headcheese lock

C1M1 starts the player locked for a few seconds before the chainsaw guys give chase. It's easy to break free from the lock before the level starts but may take a few tries. 
Spamming A   W    D   Space   and  Mouse 1 while on the loading screen will sometimes lead the player in breaking out early.

Mod note: And if you start the game from episode selection you will always break out if you hold W when the credits for music show up.

I recorded a video walkthrough of my thought process for speedrunning the game.

DUSK: Guide to Movement

The movement of DUSK is fairly simply and fun to utilize, and will assist you in your speedy endeavors greatly.

First thing to know about the movement, is that there is a hidden speed multiplier that you can raise through consecutive jumps while holding certain keys. In order to gain speed, you must be holding a forward and strafe key (ie. W + A, W + D, S + D, etc) when you jump. You will lose this speed multiplier when you are back on the ground, so keep jumping! 

You can buffer jumps in mid air by letting go of the key and pressing it again and holding it down, this will make Dusk Dude jump again as soon as possible and incurs no speed loss when done correctly.

The speed bonus multiplier starts at 0 and caps at 0.8, with each jump incrementing the multiplier by 0.2, or 25%. Every frame you are on the ground this multiplier shrinks by a small number, returning to base speed after about half a second. This bonus is hard capped and beyond normal speed + the bonus multiplier, any extra speed gained from explosions will be very quickly reduces back to the hard capped max speed. So while you can get some speed boost from rivet shots, they are only micro-boosts.

Bonus ladder tech: You can also use space to launch yourself forth from a ladder at much higher speed than normal, but as previously mentioned you quickly lose this speed bonus. Still makes a notable difference and should be used where manageable.

You can escape the headcheese lock if you hold W+A right after restarting a level with F1

that could help in IL runs of it without having to restart and watch that intro every time
