Descriptions of the different DMC2 versions

# HD Collection

The smoothest version of the original PS2 PAL game. Has a graphical bugs and a new **Flame Heart** glitch which overextends the hitbox. If Dante's Round Trip hit at certain environment or against the enemy in a specific spot, everyone else will get hit including the breakable objects. Lucia's Aerial Cross has unusual interaction against Orangguerra, Noctpteran and Arius-Argosax. This version also "fixed" an issue in PS2 where Noctpteran last two larva eggs are not supposed to be destroyed by any means.

**PS3/Xbox 360 (2012)** : Upscaled version of PS2 PAL with some missing SFX. Currently the fastest platform for the main categories. The [Eye Clip](https://dmc.wiki/dmc2:tricks:eyeclip) trick works differently than the Core game. This version can be also played on PlayStation Plus Cloud Streaming (PS4/PS5/PC).

**PS4/XboxOne/PC (2018)** : Further Upscaled version of 2012 port. Has slightly better load times than 2012, but no longer has an ability to do [Eye Clip](https://dmc.wiki/dmc2:tricks:eyeclip) trick. Prone to crashes when using DT at specific timing and some other events. # Playstation

**Playstation 2 NTSC** : Core game. Has a glitch where you can Laevateinn, Dooms Day and Divine Anger continuously. Has a bug with Swords damage. Offense Heart had no effect on the attack power increase. Instead there was an issue with Quick Heart which raises speed and attack power.

**Playstation 2 PAL** : Same game, but no longer can perform continuous DT special attack. Fixes the Sword damage and Offense Heart bug.  Has different end mission trigger when performed [Eye Clip](https://dmc.wiki/dmc2:tricks:eyeclip) trick. Can switch between 50fps and 60fps before starting the game. # Other Versions

**Switch** : Same as **HD Collection 2018**, but worse input lag. Fixed M7 staircase for Wrong Warp Jump.

DMC2 Stylish Rank Breakdown Structure

**» Why make this guide ?**
For games like DMC2, there is a lot of confusion on how the system works. After constantly watching struggle hurdle of obtaining S rank on Mission 2 Lucia. I decided to ask DMC community to assist me by translating pages that highlights critical factors of  style points.

**» The general advice for S rank stylish goes by:**
+ Not taking damage by killing enemies with a wide range of attack  first and being wary of their patterns.
+ Not killing enemies  by not using DT or weapon that is upgraded to the max.
+ Not using the same attack too many times unless its a multi-hit attack.
+ being wary of enemies hp to use a high style point attack to finish them off.

**» Example combos that raise your stylish rank:**
Dante: Stinger -> High Time or Handgun -> repeat
Lucia: Sky High -> Wheel Kick or Throwing Daggers -> repeat

__Although, when it comes to speedrunning some of these tips are not ideal at all__

To raise the rank effectively, please take into account this spreadsheet. Tip How to go NG DMD with No Resources (Dante Trish Lucia)  Every Platform

In LeaderBoard U can have Resources but if u need a pure NG DMD only for fun for your twitch or channel (It for u)

(Work the same every Every Platforms)
If U Unlock Dante Must Die mode u save file and go to new game again save in Mission 1 after it start (Dont Clear the Mission) save in another save file dont overwrite your old save
Exit And Load Game with that Save File u Save in Mission 1 Now U can Play EveryMode u Unlock and Start Your Run DMD01
Even Trish can be use if u unlock her XD
