After much consideration and research, we believe that the best path forward for the competitive future of DMC2 speedruns is to accept the RPSC3 emulator. The HDC 2012 version is not very accessible for the most runners to own a PS3 and such. The small poll survey also showed clear support for this change.

For a while I spent researching on how the game behaves. I found out that it's a pretty accurate emulation of the HDC 2012 version of the game. This means it runs exactly at 60 fps and as far as loading times are concerned, my testing reflected that loading times are consistent with those of original PS3 hardware with the SSD boost, plus/minus one to two seconds with the certain cutscene skips.
