Only works on current HDC port PC/PS4/Xbox One
Above clip demonstrates how that bug works. This is very important considering how much it changes the meta for dante. The moment it connects, every other enemies regardless of the positions (on screen or off screen) even the infamous larvas can get hit while hiding. On the top of that, the glitch still persists after a game quit. The only way to stop it is that you restart the hardware.
I am pretty sure many of you would be excited on how it can be replicated. Unfortunately, we don't know how to get it working on at least a semi consistent basis. It only happens on a accident.
I finished a run while that glitch was triggered, however I did not submit due to obvious reasons.
This has been discovered before on PS4.
For the sake of healthy practice and avoid such conflicts I am proposing this board to:
- Until we can make it replicable like 100% works on all platforms consistent, runs that contain the shotgun bug should be invalid.
- From now on runs should require a twitch VOD WR or not.
- All runs require an RTA timer to displayed (Livesplit, console stream timer, etc.). PC runs require input displays (gamepad viewer, nohboard, etc.)
DMC2 or not. I care about this game a lot and I really don't want this game to end up experiencing issues that happened to other DMC games.
I'm fine with that tbh. We can look into recreating this glitch down the line, but until we figure out a way to replicate it, it will be banned. It will henceforth be referred to as the Boomstick Glitch.
As for requiring Twitch VODs and input displays, that's a bit much for this game imo. We already require timer though.
