Ok, hear me out. Any% Bananaless

i have been testing this idea out and i can confirm you can get past the tutorial and layer 100 doing this.

I don't think this category would bring much to the board. It's just regular any% but without collecting the two Orange Bananas in the regular any% run. Both of which aren't forced but are generally needed to finish with optimal time. It's not different enough from regular any%

how about make it so you also need to get all bananzas?

You only get 1 orange banana for an optimal run in the divide layer for the ostrich upgrade in the forest layer

Why not trying minimum Bananzas? There´s some potencial for it in the future, since you can already skip part of them and somewhat beat the game without them. And just like in SMO you could make it a two route run, 1p an 2p

In smo you can do minimum captures so I done think your idea is bad I actually really like it @orogrid

You only need to obtaine 2 bananzas that are the elephant and the Kong and you only need to use the elephant one time because you need the key on the layer of the elephant, so that would be challenging and fun

And we could do lowest%, less bananzas obtained and use, no bananium, no discs, no fossils, less events triggered, less boss fights done, less purple things from void destroyed, (the one that deletes the purple of things and the ones that let you pass to another layer or sublayer) less layers visited, no buying costumes, and all of this in the fastest time. Also you need to use the 2 player mode to pass the last part of the game without the zebra, ostrich or snake

I have beaten the run I propose and is fun and challenging

A Low% for Bananza would be fun

Low% (0 Bananas, Kong Tutorial, Elephant Tutorial, Elephant Key) could eventually be added once people start running it

Getaway% building every getaway on every layer. I think it’s like 77 total and if my math is right it would need 34,000 gold. You could maybe make it a rule you have to sleep in the bed, but I think even just buying them would be cool

Minimum transformations is one that is being worked on alongside low% and similar categories. Also a reminder to folks that there is the Category Extensions page if you're looking for more categories! If you're looking to suggest ideas, the discord is a great spot to see if more people are interested in the same category. New categories generally don't get added until somebody has recorded a run of it first.
