After discussion amongst the moderation team, we have decided via mutual agreement that the NSO version of Donkey Kong 64 will be combined with the Wii U VC leaderboards. This is mainly due to a low amount of differences between the two releases. No moderators expressed dissent from this decision. We reserve the right to revisit this decision down the road if we feel like the differences eventually warrant a separate leaderboard. This is effective immediately on both the main and category extension leaderboards, so you may now submit your NSO runs to the speedrun.com leaderboards. A full list of changes of the NSO version from the Wii U VC version can be found below:

• Increased lag in the intro story
• Increased lag in DKTV
• Increased lag in the following barrel minigames: Krazy Kong Klamour (Hardest 2 only), Peril Path Panic and Busy Barrel Barrage
• Increased lag during the countdown timer of Caves Beetle Race
• Make the Caves Beetle 83% speed
• Change the grape texture in Lanky Helm Zinger Shooting game to make it darker
• Minor changes to the audio engine
• A graphical fix for the boot process
• Reduce the lightning flash intensity to 60%
• Reduce the lightning flash frequency
• Set near plane scale in Isles (DK Theatre) to 97%

After discussion over the last couple months and a vote amongst community members and the leaderboard moderators, runs on different consoles have been split and are now listed separately under different tabs. The decision included a near-supermajority vote to list the fastest console by default on a per-category basis. In the case of all the main categories, this ends up being Wii U VC. Other changes to the DK64 leaderboards include allowing runs on N64 flashcards and Wii U VC inject to be submitted (which are not in effect yet due to technical details on specific rules for these kinds of submissions). Emulator runs will continue to remain banned.
