Dialogue skips can occur whenever the game is affected by lag. Because of this, there are multiple ways to induce a dialogue skip.

The easiest and fastest method is by a manipulation of window resizing or window moving (PC only). Originally discovered by FireFox.

1. Start with your game set into windowed mode (alt-enter if you're in fullscreen).
2. Place your mouse over the corner or the side of the game window so the cursor turns into that double-arrow symbol or on the op of the window.
3. Whenever dialogue comes up, click and hold with the left-mouse button until the audio cuts out. This essentially tricks the game into thinking the window is being resized/being moved.
4. Release the mouse button to resume. When done correctly, dialogue skip can be executed in less than half a second with no overhead of your screen going blank from the alt-enter method of going from windowed to full-screen etc.

Alternatively you can also press alt-enter to trigger the game from toggling between fullscreen and windowed mode, which can also cut the dialogue out (also PC exclusive). Originally discovered by tSu_nAmi.

A simple and random lag spike at the right moment can also result in dialogue skip, such as your device throttling down due to excess heat (we don't recommend trying this one). Originally discovered by FireFox.
