Greetings Guardians,

I have quite a bit of information to share with everyone, from formalizing new categories, upcoming mod meetings, and GDQ updates. But first, we decided to start using the News section on Speedrun.com (SRC) in conjunction with our Announcements page on our Discord. This will be a smaller version of our announcements where we will pick and choose big updates to provide to the community at large. Formalizing New Categories: Since the introduction of the Misc. page we have seen a few conversations around our process for adding new categories to the site. There are a few steps that need to be taken by the runner/community to show interest as well as go through the proper channels.

• Create a⁠ suggestions post ON DISCORD for the category you wish to be added and any information you want to provide for how you envision this category
• Have community discussion providing any feedback
• Runners to show proof of concept (Decent/Good Runs) and willingness to run
• After we see a fair number of runs (each category would be different depending on the nature of the category for the amount of runs we would be looking for) we add the category

Verifiers: We are still accepting verifier applications in ⁠roles if you are interested in becoming a verifier please fill out the google form. I haven't had a mod meeting discussing promotions/demotions yet so you still have time to get in your application. Expect this to be finalized in the next week or two.

Adventures: It is crazy to see how everything comes full circle! Back when I was a verifier, I was pushing for clutter on the site to be moved to a spreadsheet to improve QOL and ease of use for all. Since then we have been able to create a DCV site, this has allowed us to move all Adventures back onto the site and give those runners the recognition they deserve!

GDQ Hotfix: Everyone should come and support @Xemo a active runner within the D2 Speedrun Community as he has been chosen to participate in "GDQ Hotfix" on January 29, 2024 7:00 PM PST but he will likely be running closer to January 29, 2024 9:00 PM PST. Now these things are only some of what I could think of quickly off the top of my head, but none of it would be possible without the staff team we have been working on perfecting since the time I became a verifier and the community for being as passionate as you are for everything Destiny 2 Speedrunning. So here is to another year of growth!

For this season we are taking a different approach with artifact mods. We are banning the following 3 artifact mods from being used in all activities (excluding grandmaster nightfalls and lost sectors):

• Anti Barrier Sniper
• Thunderous Retort
• Sundering Glare

This means every other mod in the artifact this season can be used in any activity

-All Artifact Mods are allowed to be used in Raids -All 4th and 5th Artifact Mods are banned in Strikes and Missions -A Majority of Mods are allowed in Dungeons, but the following Mods have been banned:

Classy Restoration - Activating your Solar class abilities grants you restoration Radiant Orbs - Picking up an Orb of Power makes you radiant Rays of Precision - While radiant, Solar precision final blows cause combatants to ignite Flame Harvesting - Solar Exotic final blows create Solar elemental wells Glaive of Dreams - While you have a Glaive equipped, the Unstable Essence buff gained by picking up objects dropped by Nightmares has double its normal duration

In order to reduce clutter on the board, we have archived all adventure runs to an off-site spreadsheet. With the removal of the runs from the site, this also means that the submission process (as unlikely as it is to be used) is now offline. We can still edit the sheet though so if you have a run you want to submit (given that it follows the usual rules and that you have video evidence), please get in contact with us so that we can add it to the sheet.
