Adding SoR or other items to saves

Create a new save with whatever class you want, then exit to main menu before going to 2nd area.

Go to "%LocalAppData%/deathsgambit397/" and go to the folder called deaths_gambit0 / 1 / 2 / 3, the folder you need is whatever slot you saved in minus 1. (i.e. slot 1 is deaths_gambit0)

Open inventory.sav in a text editor that isn't notepad and select all the alphanumeric characters at the start including equals.

Decode that with https://www.base64decode.org/ and you should get something that starts with [player].

Scroll down to [inventory] and find an empty slot close to slot0 and set it to 97:1: for SoR.

Encode your edited save with https://www.base64encode.org/ and paste it back into inventory.sav

Downpatching

Open run menu (Win+R), run "steam://nav/console", then run the command for whatever version you want in the steam console.

Once its finished it'll print a directory in the console.
Go to that directory and move it to wherever you want and rename it to whatever you want.
Put a text file next to the exe called "steam_appid.txt" and make that text file have "356650" as its content.
Run the exe as normal, or add it as an external game on steam.

Each save slot is its own folder here. This means you copy the folder to copy saves.
**deaths_gambit0** is Slot 1
**deaths_gambit1** is Slot 2
**deaths_gambit2** is Slot 3
**deaths_gambit3** is Slot 4

Each save slot folder contains the following files:
**blood.sav**
**environment.sav**
**inventory.sav**
**options.sav**
**player.sav**
These can likely be copied between different save slots to experiment, probably even creating customized runs, or sharing fresh files that include pre-order DLC.
