Alright, I was once again streaming my 100 Endings speedrun attempt, and after a few hours of running, my PC decided that it didn't want to live anymore and crashed. That, of course, immediately ended the stream (Not giving me the chance to show my place in the timeline, and cutting off my timer, too). This isn't the first time this has happened to me, unfortunately, as you know, and with a run this long, I feel like the risk of computer crashes, power outages, or internet connections being lost is FAR more likely to come up. So, here's my big question.
Is this nearly 7 hours of speedrunning for nothing now, disqualifying it from the category? Or is there some way I can keep this run going? I'm totally fine with putting the timer to the same point it was at before the crash, then reloading the game and redoing the combat I was in. It would add quite a few minutes to the timer, I know, but I don't mind. And I think that the live stream rule would make it so you couldn't take advantage of this.
I really want to do an All Endings speedrun, but I think we need to figure something out for when the game crashes or similar experiences, cause otherwise someone could end up losing dozens--maybe hundreds--of hours of work to something completely out of their control. And if anyone else has suggestions on how we can handle this, feel free to share em.
Can't wait to see what the categories end up being for this one!
I've been trying to learn the duplication glitch, but after about half an hour of practicing, I still haven't managed to get it once. Is it only available on a specific version of the game, or am I just bad? And if I am just bad, are there any tips on how to get it to work? Thanks!
Obviously I'm not a mod or anything, and won't push the issue any further. But it does seem kinda unfair to be putting Switch 1 and Switch 2 runs up against each other, considering how much faster Switch 2 load times are. Might be nice to make it its own variable, though it's the mod's call.
Well, I've finally cleared time in my schedule to try a bunch of these runs, but some of them (mostly second scenario) are fairly daunting to do in one sitting. Curious what everyone thinks about adding in a break system, or at least making a NG+ option for 2nd scenario.
Hoping to try speedrunning the game, but can't find a ROM for Citra 1568. The links I've found all give a 404 page not found response =/
Please send help
I know that some RF games do so and others don't, but I'd like to try a few of the runs out when I have more time in August, and think it might be cool to add it as a category!
Is it just to get any of the 100 endings asap from a pre-existing save? Or is it for specific endings?
Just want to make sure I'm allowed to do so
They have em for RF 1 and 5, and I feel like this game would have even more fun speedruns for each marriage speedrun.
Might be too similar to the regular any%, but some of the other Rune Factory games have specific categories for each bachelorette (and bachelor in their case), wondering if people would want to add sections for them?
We have one for easy mode, but... well, not for hard. Is there a strong strat for all that?
Just curious, since it's the only way I could access the game except emulator, which has been banned. Could we at least make a seperate category for Wii U?
Getting a bit of conflicting info lol. The rules officially say that they ARE banned for that category, but when someone else asked about it for other categories, a mod said no because it would mess up your health, which is bad. The same principles seem to apply here, if not much more so, so now I'm curious!
