I seem to be having issues with the manip. I make it all the way to the trainer, but the trainer battle initiates instead of the Pikachu encounter. I assume it has to do with my A inputs, but I'm not entirely sure. I have been practicing with a save state so hopefully this recording of my inputs helps figure out the issue.
yeah you press A way too shortly, press it longer and harder, or else it doest register

Also, to second what glitchy is saying - hold A longer than is intuitive. You do not need to release A before the next tile (unless you are performing consecutive A presses one tile apart). Normally just press as long as you want as I tend to do here just releasing some time before the next A press is needed:
