i can only capture the game using a fullscreen capture, which is pretty irritating since it captures EVERYTHING, including the little pop-up that shows up EVERY TIME I CHANGE MY VOLUME.
thankfully, the only thing it covers is the timer, and only partially, so its fine enough. if it covered the bottom right, things would get ugly, FAST. still, obs shouldn't be... y'know... refusing to capture my game??
and yes, I've already tried re-installing obs. that didn't fix anything.
for some reason though, it DOES capture everest? and only sometimes?? and it's SIDEWAYS???
I had some problems too with the game capture and the only thing I can recomand is to take a second screen to put obs and livesplit on it and put the game in fullscreen so you can do fullscreen capture.
if you don't have second screen a tv works too

have you turned off full screen mode and instead adjusting your window size so it's fully on screen on windowed mode? I don't ask this to be demeaning I'm legit asking
uninstalling everest (by verifying the game files through steam) hasn't done anything either.

OpenGl betas can potentially fix it for you (FNA version). Because Windows version runs by default on XNA framework. And Everest forces the game into FNA version. Which is a lot more stable to begin with afaik. Try that first and if that doesn't help, deffo also check in the discord. Probably in the modding section (regarding vanilla and OBS ironically)
The sideways recording I'm actually baffled by. But some other general Celeste OBS capture advice:
- Especially when trying to capture Vanilla Celeste, try to do some inputs in-game for like 10 seconds. Game often doesn't get registered if you aren't tabbed back into the game.
- Laptops sometimes have the issue of using integrated graphics to render the game, instead of the dedicated GPU. So make sure the game is set to "High Performance", which you can set in Windows under "Settings"->"Display"->"Graphics"
- Go into the properties of the game capture and set "Mode" to "Capture specific window", select Celeste.exe, and set "Window Match Priority" to "Match title, otherwise find window of same executable"
If you have integrated and dedicated graphics, OBS has to use the same graphics card as the game otherwise it doesn't work. Not sure if I had this problem with Celeste or another game but it's worth checking if they're using the same GPU.
