Greetings and Hoomzling!

While we did talk about the subject beforehand, we've decided today to allow for Turbo in the rules of the speedrun. We don't want to force people into painful situations just to be able to run Yars Rising. While a high mash speed can be pretty useful, the places where it's required are not that common (we're talking mashing related hacks and a couple of bosses.)

To make sure players without turbo don't feel disproportionately affected by the changes, we have clear rules about Turbo:

Turbo inputs or controllers are allowed at a maximum rate of 8hz (1 input per 125ms). Turbo can be used during Story runs (Hacklist and ILs do not allow Turbo).

I'm excited to see new runners come about thanks to Game of the Month over at the Frame Fatales server! We've been even finding new glitches (see HSS in the forum), so I hope Yars continues to be a fun game that people can enjoy running.

I wish you all Happy Holidays and have a wonderful 2026! (If I dont post another thing before lol)

Hello, Yarniverse!

We're changing the rules in regards to the Biohack Proof screen requirements for any category that requires it (A-to-Z & All Biohacks at the time of writing). This change was spurred after noticing that it could lead to a clear discrepancy between runners who either count down out loud or go down the menu directly. Therefore, it aims to standardise the Biohack Proof screen time loss by removing it entirely.

The Biohack Proof screen requirement is now asked post-end of run, by accessing the savefile as soon as possible after defeating Aphellanx. Either skip or let the credits run out, then open the same save file you used for the run, and go down the list.

Runs prior to the change will be retimed to reflect the change and remain valid. Runs submitted after April 19th with the Biohack Screen proof requirement mid-run will not be retimed.

Thank you for reading~

Greetings and Hoomzling, everyone!

After hours of grueling work, I'm happy to announce that Yars Rising finally has a Runner's Guide, for anyone interested in the learning the intricacies of the game and start running with all the info we've compiled over the time. The guide will be amended as we find new glitches and tech. Again, if possible, new tech/glitches will be first posted in the SRC forums, and then added to the guide.

Thank you so much to everyone who has been part of the adventure, and I hope you get to rise to new Yars!

Hey, everyone! Jupi here.

After discussion among moderators, we have decided to divide the board into FIFE Allowed and FIFE Not Allowed.

FIFE is too big of a glitch to not do so, as it makes the runs wildly different in terms of gameplay, etc. and so required its own category. If more major glitches are found in the future, they will probably join FIFE under a NMG category.

I tried my best to catch every run but if any of your runs are missing from the board, send me a DM on SRC or Discord, and I will correct it.

Big kudos to Reju who found FIFE (and PGIH as well)~

Hey, everyone! Jupi here, with a new category!

It came as a fact that there's no "easy to start running" category that would interest potential runners, since Any% is a little under 2 hours right now. So the idea was to make a short and sweet category, and our eyes looked at the end of Act 2, where Emi returns home after "escaping" from Qotech. The Act ends on an metroidvania-styled escape sequence and it ends quite cleanly after about 40 minutes.

And that's why Escape Qotech now exists! It's listed under the Miscellanous section, next to A-to-Z, and has the usual variables.

I will also say that it's probably the last "silly" category we'll have for now. The game is still quite limited, and while hopes for NG+ are not dashed, they're not a priority for now for the team at WF.

Enjoy!

Hi everyone, and welcome to the Yars Rising SRC page! I'm Jupi (also known as Cutefangies) and I'm your page creator.

It took a little but we finally have all the base categories up on the page, be it ILs or Full Game categories. (There's even a silly one hidden in Miscellanous!)

I'm in the middle of making Boss training Saves since sharing savefiles does work and bosses are still so difficult to deal with. Other additional resource and/or guide ideas are welcome!

Please enjoy the runs.

Edit 25/10: It has come to my knowledge that Pro difficulty has no IH toggle. The board has been changed to reflect it.
