Are runs on Linux (specifically CachyOS) acceptable?

I'm currently launching D2R via Steam on CachyOS. That all works with Proton (essentially a specialized WINE). CachyOS is a Linux flavor worth specifically mentioning because it uses a performance based scheduler not possible in Windows. In theory it should reduce micro stutters and load in-game assets faster. Whether that is a tangible benefit or not I don't know. I'm currently not at the level something like that would matter.

My edits to the main post aren't taking for some reason. I just wanted to clarify that I run bnet in steam because that's where I buy all my Blizzard games. You can buy D2R under steam directly and it's compatible with SteamDeck (which also will run in under Proton). SteamDeck actually has a similar performance scheduler. If you would allow SteamDeck then I'd guess you'd allow CachyOS. The major difference though is that I wouldn't be bound to a controller and I'd have better hardware.
