Co-op Rule Clarification

There has been some discussion about co-op rules in light of recent findings, so we wanted to take a moment to clarify some things about the co-op categories.

  1. You must be playing with two players. This seems like a stupid rule, but what this really means is that a single person can't be playing in place of two. This rule is important for understanding the following two rules.

  2. There must be two, and only two, characters on screen at any given time. Any duplication of characters is strictly prohibited.

  3. If a player dies, they must be revived. If the ghost goes offscreen before the fight is over, they may steal a life from the alive player, assuming they do so within a second of leaving the screen. If this window is missed, the fight must be restarted. Failure to do so will result in the run being rejected. This rule only applies to boss fights.

  4. We are allowing online co-op through alternate means (such as Nvidia)

If a player's ghost hoes offscreen, but the other player has a live to give to the deceased player, can that strategy be used to finish the fight with two players? (meaning to do it right when the ghost left the screen, to not give a 1 player advantage to the boss)

We are allowing it, within a small time frame of the ghost leaving the screen. I have updated the rules accordingly

just curious, does the 2nd player need to have an account on speedrun?
