Start timing

Hello everyone!

I'd like to ask about start timing in crash 1 runs. I start the timer exactly at the same moment I press "x" to start a new game and usually get 0.81s when the first loading screen displays. I see you guys getting times more like 1.79s, and because of that I'm questioning the legitimity of a potential run I could have. I'm already struggling going farther than lost city without having to reset, that's why I prefer to be sure. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for replies and if my explanation is unclear I'll try to explain it differently.

if you press new game and start timer simultaneously it should be around 1.7-1.8 on the first load, but don't worry about it, mods can retime it if necessary, the run is still valid anyway.

Thank you for the answer. I figured out I'm having a delay between the moment I split and the moment it effectively inputs the split, so I think that's the issue. Will troubleshoot it.

Edit: Just found the answer, there was a 1s delay on the key, don't know why this was set up. Anyways thanks for the informations.
