This guide assumes a basic knowledge of how the game works.

  • Once you learn the routes on each level the biggest difference maker is movement. RNG plays a big role at the top level but until you reach the top level movement will and knowledge will play a bigger role in the time at the end of the run.
  • Using the B cam to optimize movement can make your life easier and faster at many points in the game. Never underestimate how much of a difference good movement can make.
  • You better be good at button mashing; it can make the difference during cutscenes, since they can’t be skipped on a first run.
  • Guide on remote movements and especially sword fighting in Barbaros Land: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/938681-zack-and-wiki-quest-for-barbaros-treasure/50971907
  • Low input delay helps a lot especially with things like sword fighting.
  • When using tools, especially keys, moving the wii mote too quickly can really mess you up.
  • I would highly recommend watching the current WR for an IL you wish to run or any% to know what to do.
  • Picking up transformed items mid-air and transforming items with as little ringing as possible can be difficult but rewarding.

In Any% All 24 levels must be beaten to complete the run. Time ends when Barbaros is defeated in Final Battle.

A Journey Begins:

  • Most of the tutorials are mandatory, so knowing where to click exactly when can save a good amount of time (ex. Camera icon).
  • Treasure Tutorial Skip - By ringing before you reach the chest you can skip the tutorial on exorcising ghosts.
  • In ILs we currently allow you to reset at any time during the run. This level is unique in that when you reset you start at the beginning of the segment of the level you are on, not at the beginning.

Pit of Tragedy:

  • You want to walk behind the middle pillar to get to the snake, to optimize this movement click on the pot with the snake as soon as possible.
  • After transforming the snake try to pick up the slither gripper mid-air by aiming somewhere around the pot the snake came out of. This is risky but necessary for a 1:17 or better. Alternatively you can use the time the snake takes to transform to move closer to the pillar, both methods are about the same.
  • After you pull the key immediately walk most of the way down the stairs and then drop the slither gripper. If you drop it at the right time it should bounce to the bottom step. Then grab the key.
  • A good shortcut in the final part of the level is clicking on the lower level to move from the upper to lower sections after opening the door. You can zoom out to go from the door to pick up the slither gripper and then go back to the lever to make sure your movement is optimal.

Flute of the Growlin’ Goblins:

  • It is possible to go all the way from the left to the right in one cycle without stopping.
  • When getting the coconut, make small shakes on the tree.
  • It is possible to move the carriage across while the Goblins are dancing. Unfortunately, It is pretty risky over long distances and it’s inconsistent. You shouldn’t need to ever pause in an IL.
  • An important tip is that you can start doing some actions that drop items even when the control icon pops up. (Ex. The coconut and the mushroom)
  • Transform the snake before you drop the mushroom in the soup.
  • When walking off the platform when you drop the mushroom in the soup you need to click the ground when you reach the bottom step to get off of the step.
  • You can “slide” each input for the flute after the first one but it can be finicky if you aren’t practiced. When in doubt, take it slow.

The Fountain Guardian: Luck-Based

DO NOT USE A COMPLETED FILE FOR ILS!

  • You should do the method where you lure the frog to the lower level.
  • There are five rocks, and one of them has a worm. Lifting a wrong rock loses about 2-3 seconds. Furthermore, there is a rock that is further apart from the others, if the worm is under that rock you should probably just reset. The best rock for ILs is the bottom rock on the top level. In ILs after revealing the worm you can’t pick up the worm right away so use that time to inch a little closer to where you’re going next.
  • The lake has a huge hitbox so whenever you are moving to the lake just click right on it. This is especially helpful right after you pick up the key.

Three Colossi - has micro RNG

Best TAS: 1:27 (no video)

  • There are a set number of combinations of totem pieces, some are better than others but it doesn’t make much of a difference if you are fast enough with turning the segments. If you place a totem piece the first frame possible the game might not detect the rotation.
  • It's faster to drop the crank near the right statue before getting the snake head.
  • The treasure chest at the end has a weird hit box so make sure you know where to click.

King of the Jungle - has micro RNG

DO NOT USE A COMPLETED FILE FOR ILS!

  • You can ring to get the vase to fall on the statue after you cut down the sticks.
    • If you cut down the sticks before ringing for the vase, you will be in the optimal position to ring after cutting.
  • When moving across the log at the beginning of the level if you click on it once Zack will always move all the way across. This means that once you click on it the first time you don’t need to do anything until after the cutscene. Also when you are going back to the fire to light the torch don’t click on the fire until you get over the main portion of the log because Zack can’t interact with anything while on it.
  • Underwater movement is annoying in this stage. Practice. Once you are close enough to the openings in the water you can click outside of the water once and Zack will jump out. If you exit the water the same frame a cutscene starts you will float up. Just swim down through the air to return to normal.
  • To get King Growl to move to the right side of the level you only need to ring wiki just longer than a quick ring (when Zack spins around in a circle), you can ring once you are in about the middle of the doorway to outside right before the camera would pan to the right.
  • After the cutscene where King Growl moves to the right side of the level the movement is really tricky so it’s easiest to get good at zooming out as soon as you click to have Zack move and then clicking on the ground near King Growl.
  • You can be further from King Growl than you think to transform him but don’t push it if you don’t know the limit.
  • You can do the exorcism once Zack is on the second step below the treasure chest but don’t push your luck.

The Crystal Key - Luck-Based

Best TAS: 1:38 (no video)

  • Depending on the initial position of the ice blocks for the key, the blocks can be placed in the correct positions in 4-8 moves minimum. Restarting still loses time in the 8 move scenario.
  • When moving to and from the key molds you can click on the ground in specific spots so Zack doesn’t walk around the long way, this is difficult and takes practice but it’s basically necessary for an IL WR.
  • When looking at the left key mold it is faster to click on the light on the ground to reduce walking. If you do this you will need to press B the first time and then click on the light again the second time.
  • Getting in position to melt the key requires minimal movement of the Wii-mote. Just tilt and lower it slightly, practice makes perfect.

Keeper of the Ice

  • Cycle refers to Jeeves’s timer
    • Cycle 1 - Get the umbrella and move back to the start to freeze the water. If you move nearly perfectly you can walk right past jeeves. If you don’t quite move fast enough, take a winding path to delay Jeeves. This is very risky so in a full game run it’s easier to take the path around the small pools of water.
    • Cycle 2 - Grab the shovel, dig out the goon, itemize, and retreat to the safe zone northwest If you move fast enough on digging out the goon you can barely make your footprints disappear on the shovel spot to avoid that timeloss and the cutscene. You can leave the safe zone the second Jeeves finishes sweeping if you exit as far to the left as possible.
    • Cycle 3 - Bring the totem to the SE going through the Ice, make sure not to step on the snow spot where you get the shovel. Get back onto the Ice and start heading upwards. You can step on the snow on your way to the shovel.
    • Cycle 4 - Bring the shovel to the snow pile using the bridge. Shovel, step on the snow on the ice; go as far up as possible without making your footsteps on the snow pile disappear. If you got all the cycles as fast as possible you shouldn’t get very far past the ice before Jeeves dies.

Icicle of Prosperity

DO NOT USE A COMPLETED FILE FOR ILS!

  • This boils down to efficient movement. Using all items on the treasure chest instead of the Chandelier is recommended. The hammer is the fastest way to do any extra damage if you need any at the end of the level.
  • Itemize the goon as far left as possible to reduce the distance needed to move with the totem. You can do this most efficiently by walking around the back of the chest.
  • Right after you itemize the goon, pick him up and trigger the cutscene with the other goon then drop the totem immediately. After you drop the icicle the totem should warp down a level.
  • Drop the hammer right when you get off the ladder, itemize the goon, break the icicle,  bring the goon to the left hole, get the second goon, put it in the right hole, get the hammer, hit the mole.
  • Drill a hole in the icicle, get the centisaw.
  • Saw the icicle at medium speed to do the most damage per second. Once you think you can go fast. Stop sawing when the icicle has 4999 hp. You can saw fast a little less than half of the time.
  • Get the small icicle, put it in, hammer the icicle twice, get the slither gripper, get the frog bomb, blast the icicle, win.
  • Zooming out can be helpful when moving across the level. The icicle has a huge hitbox so try to click directly on it whenever you can.

Frost Breath - Luck-Based

  • Three different setups are possible, and there is a best one. From worst to best:
    • Mirror at Bottom Left: 6 Mirrors + Rose to set
    • No Mirrors at start: 8 Mirrors to set
    • Mirror at Top Left: 4 Mirrors + Rose to set
  • In an IL go for only the most optimal layout. If you are comfortable it doesn’t loose a lot of time to do the 8 mirror layout in a full game run but if you mess up timeloss can build up fast so only go for it if you think you can do it fairly quickly.
  • You are safe to move the moment that Chillion’s breath weakens. A good indicator of when to move is a sound effect that plays, but as long as you move right before Chillion stops attacking you should be optimal. In a full game run you can mitigate lag by using the B cam in one corner. This will save some time but it makes it a little more difficult to know when you can start moving to the mirrors.
  • You can position the Wii mote to place the mirrors before you even click on the pedestal to place them super fast but make sure to over rotate the Wii mote for the fastest possible placement. On the first mirror you need to pause a little bit before doing this because of the tutorial.
  • When adjusting the laser point the Wii mote straight up (like the tutorial says) and then tilt it to the right or left to point it in different directions.
  • Start with a mirror on the left side, then grab the other mirror and go to the top right. Grab the idol mirror and drop it by the empty pedestal.
  • For the final hit, set the ice mirror before grabbing Rose and moving her to her spot.
  • A good run will end Chillion without him breathing between hits.

Bridge of Doom - Luck-Based

DO NOT USE A COMPLETED FILE FOR ILS!

  • Lever puzzle is luck-based; Simon Says has between 5-10 moves, with roughly 2-3 seconds lost per extra move. If you fail enough times it can take 4 moves. In a full game run it is highly recommended to use a pen and paper to remember the sequence.
  • Dump a hard hat full of water right after you transform the goons.
  • When dumping water anywhere you can just point the Wii mote straight down before the tutorial to dump it immediately.
  • It doesn’t take long at all for the hard hat to fill up with water.
  • Transforming the goon on the left immediately after you get to the bottom of the level bounces him to a weird angle; you can pick him up on the bottom and save a second when putting him on the leftmost pedestal.
  • Drop the hard hat right after dumping water on the left fire.

Lake of Fire - Luck-Based

  • Fang spawn is completely random; Breaking the pots closest to where you spawn is the best way to grind RNG; the fang next to the goon is always an octagon
  • Transform the centipede after activating the lava (Or when you walk past it if you are unlucky).
  • Grab the totem on the left before you grab the saw, then drop it on the right hand side of the bridge. If you time it right you should get a favorable bounce. Then Grab the saw, place the right goon on the right pedestal and then the left goon on the stairs, then grab the saw and go up the stairs.
  • Don’t click on the left goon or it will activate a cutscene.
  • As soon as you go down the big stairs after beating the level click the other stairs and then zoom out to click directly on the treasure chest. You can exorcise the ghost as soon as you reach the back of the chest.

Relics of the Past

DO NOT USE A COMPLETED FILE FOR ILS!

  • Once you examine the first broken orion walker click B immediately to trigger the snake cutscene.
  • Don’t forget the Orion Walker has a dash button! (1)
  • When you get the first Orion Walker for the first time you can get all the way to the elevator before it teaches you how to hold the wii mote.
  • Always leave space to dismount.
  • Nail the block puzzle. Pick up the dark one and put it in the top right so it is shaped like an “L” and then put the light one and then the mixed one in without turning them.
  • After the block puzzle grabbing the Orion Walker loses time.
  • When placing the big metal box the game is fairly lenient, just make sure you are past the trap door.
  • After getting past the lava falls to make sure you can dismount and place down the broken Orion walker move all the way to the edge of the bridge before turning around, just make sure you are high enough.
  • Finishing the final puzzle and moving right fast enough teleports you close to the chest. You can press A or B to stop interacting with each rotating piece. The Orion Walkers are not moving when you are using the rotating puzzle.

Dragon Scales - micro RNG

  • When in the big dragon exoskeleton movement is tricky, just click away from where Zack is for him to move from the top to the bottom or vise versa.

  • Fireballs take about 7 seconds to shoot.

  • It is optimal for the right spider to be on the right side to prevent goon carrying and less dragon statue moving.

  • First swing - low power, early (when the fireball lines over with the brown slide in the background)

  • You don’t need to turn the dragon statue all of the way, just close enough for it to correct to one of the 3 positions.

  • Set the fireball spitter to turn before completing the seesaw - it takes 6 hits to knock the giant ball on the seesaw, so you have anywhere from 35s-42s to complete the setup If you are nearly perfect you can place the stone slab, one totem, and get the racket after setting the dragons statue in an IL. Place the bridge first in a full game run because of the extra cutscene.

  • Second swing - high power, early (as early as you think you can hit it)

Ancient Wyrm

  • In an IL watch a little bit of the opening cutscene to delay the first goon running cycle.
  • Don’t worry about taking care of Swellosaurus Jr. at all.
  • Rec. order
    • First Water on Top
    • Totem to Ramp Switch (as far right as possible before ringing)
      • You can walk around the goon if you do the first water statue fast enough but It’s very difficult and not worth it.
    • Bottom levers (Low, Mid, Low)
    • Totem on top to switch across the ramp (move as far left as possible before ringing unless you will bump into the goon)
    • Bottom Totem to Switch by the start (you can click on the button as soon as you can see it, before that you can click on the ground all the way in the background.
    • Second Water on the bottom
      • You can click on the statue right after setting the totem
    • Third Water on Top
    • Top levers (Mid, High, Mid)
    • Last Water
    • Last Totem
    • At the end of the level if it looks like Swellosaurus is going to leave the middle of the level ring wiki to make her mad at you so she will stay but it’s not totally clear when the best time is to do this.
    • After the final cutscenes get to the ladder as fast as possible, then click on the ground all the way in the back and once Zack walks in front of the chest perform the exorcism.

Operation: Take Back!

  • Start the plane while waiting for the elevator the first time, if you die it will not stay started after you revive.
  • Be good at clicking, especially on the elevator doors and in the elevator.
  • Make sure Wiki says “nice one boss” after you transform the goon behind the propeller or Wiki will stop working.
  • Going out through the elevator as opposed to stopping the power and using the propeller is faster by about 3 seconds.
  • Shoot the hanger door before the vent, make sure to move the turret to the left.
  • Don’t close the hangar door before shooting; it can be shot normally.
  • Make sure to drop the frog bomb on the ceiling fan before getting it to jump on Rose. You only need to chase the frog one jump away from the hole to get it to jump on Rose.
  • You don’t need to transform the goon knocked out by the ceiling fan
  • The game won’t let you climb up the ladder at the end of the level while Rose is moving from that room to the next.

Bell Tower of Requiem - micro RNG

  • Moonlight at the start lasts for 10 seconds. All Darkness lasts for 10 seconds. Moonlight after that lasts for 30 seconds. When the light starts to flash, you have 5 seconds before Darkness appears. The light flashes 13 times.

  • At the very beginning of the level and after you ring the bell you have a lot of leeway waiting for the moon cycle but when you are interacting with anything the cycle pauses so make sure to turn the gear knob and pick up the moon stone as fast as possible.

  • You can ride up the gear early depending on how the ghost on the second level is moving; he has to be right in your personal space to kill you. In a full game run he always starts moving to the right and you have to time stepping on the gear and in ILs he always starts to the left. He randomly looks left and right which moves his position when the moon comes back. In ILs the more he does this and the earlier the better, in New Game run the less he does this the better.

  • Ringing the Bell Tower the first time resets the cycle to Moonlight.

  • When you transform the frog the bomb bounces and then teleports to the left, it is fairly easy to pick up the bomb in mid-air.

The Painted Secret

  • Pick up the empty painting, then the chest piece, then the painting with the key.
  • Drop the broom after you sweep the door; it will be faster when coming to pick it back up. You want the broom to fall to your left not behind you but don’t slow down to wait for Zack to turn.
  • Don’t stay in one place for too long when sweeping either painting because you need to wait for the animations.
  • When going around the corner to the left of the door painting if you click on the door painting and you are too close to the banisters you can get stuck, just click on the ground in front of Zack or the wall to the right of the door to get unstuck, this always happens when you exit the moon painting.
  • When inking the man's eyes on the upper floor start to the left or right of his eyes and go straight across. You can blind him in one swipe if you do it straight enough.
  • Place the faucet right below the Fish’s mouth in a NG run; in an IL just put it as low as you can.
  • When pulling the cord to drop the chest piece at the top of the level move the Wii mote downwards slowly.
  • Right after the final cutscene you can start ringing to exorcise the ghost.

Mirror, Mirror - Luck-Based

  • The phone CAN ring even if you’re in the interaction screen!

  • Timing of each non-mandatory sound (roughly)

    • Moose - 0.9 seconds
    • Skull - 1.1 seconds
    • Meat - 1.6 seconds
    • Window breaking - 2.3 seconds
    • Chandelier - 4.5 seconds
  • First phone call will have 2, the second 3, and the final 4. As a result, here are min and max times for each phone call (sounds only, not pauses between sounds):

    • First call: 2.0 - 6.8 seconds
    • Second call: 3.6 - 8.4 seconds
    • Final call: 5.9 - 9.5 seconds
    • Total: 11.5 - 24.7 seconds
    • Total (excluding candelabra): 11.5 - 14.8 seconds
    • Interact with as many objects as possible before the phone call to reduce cutscenes later in the level. Always do the candelabra and in ILs prioritize fast ones because you will reset anyways if you get a slow pattern. You can do 3 in the first phase in ILs
    • In ILs only pick up the pot over the worm before getting the key
    • Drop the mole drill near the right wall so it doesn’t interfere with movement later
    • You are guaranteed to get one of each object as far as we know
    • Perform the exorcism when walking behind the chest at the end.

Mad Science

  • Rec. order:
    • Pick up the rock
    • Itemize Centipede
    • Click on the Snake (If you click somewhere to move before you click on the snake Zack will keep moving during this cutscene)
    • Itemize Snake
    • Itemize Bat
    • Pump the Water (it will take 3 pumps if you’re fast, 4 or more if you’re slow)
    • Purple Shock to Beaker
    • Yellow Water to Beaker
    • Mix Potion 1 and empty in Washbasin
    • Put Beaker back in stand
    • Shrink and Grab Slither Gripper
    • Mix invisibility potion
    • Turn Invisible, mix the second shrinking potion; after you mix the potion you can exit with one of the bottles in hand to save a little time, just make sure to drop it at some point and recover fast enough to not pause.
    • Send Key down the pipe
    • Shrink and get Key

Return of the Legend - Luck-Based

  • Slither Gripper is faster than Batbrella.
  • If you pull the light as they do their final hop (6th) right before the ghosts appear and then pull it again as soon as you can you can save a little more than 3 seconds (harder than it looks).
  • DO NOT break pots while waiting, this will delay every cycle. Because of this ideally you will find the snake in the first pot you check
  • When pulling the lever, move the remote like a centisaw for consistent speed.
  • Be incredibly safe with your movement when bombing S.D.III A-C (the iron maidens) because Zack’s pathing can get confused by pots and kill you.
  • When you start falling pay close attention to if you see the batbrella.
  • The way the ghosts appear at the end is random. The minimum time is roughly 35 seconds (getting into the chest to exorcise the 10th ghost) and you need to kill 10 ghosts in 4 cycles for optimal RNG. It is also random how quickly they fly towards you and get exorcized.

The Great Chase - Luck-Based

DO NOT USE A COMPLETED FILE FOR ILS!

  • No fishing required.
  • When you see the cutscene right after getting in the turret Hexaleg’s position is reset to the right.
  • When operating the gun the more you move the wii mote the faster it will move.
  • Right when you get control of the gun for the first time aim at hexaleg at the waterline and shoot 4 times. This will force him to dive down. You can shoot him while he is underwater if you aim low enough. This is 100% consistent
  • After shooting Hexaleg the first time, itemize a tuna before going below deck for later; do not place it in the chute.
  • Hexaleg is ~66% likely to hit the boat the first time, risking it in an Any% run saves only a few seconds at most and can lose you over 40.
  • When shooting the first set of goons immediately move the gun straight up, shoot the first goon then immediately move to the left to hit the second goon, then move to the left and slightly down to hit the last goon. This is hard.
  • If you’re fast enough, you can hit Hexaleg with a second bomb when he comes back around immediately after freeing the three goons in a NG run. In an IL wait until Hexaleg’s legs swing to the right just before he starts moving to the left.
  • Set up the mast before planting the bomb. But don’t place it until the Johnny cutscene plays.
  • At the end Hexaleg will always hit the boat once but after that it’s about a 50% chance for each additional hit.
  • Examine the ready mast to skip a cutscene while Hexaleg eats the barrel with the bomb.
  • Launch the mast right before Hexaleg emerges to hit him as early as possible. If you do it just before he emerges you can hit him as soon as possible. Although it is much safer to do it as soon as he pops up (counting can help)

Barbaros’s Land - Luck-Based

DO NOT USE A COMPLETED FILE FOR ILS IF YOU PLAN ON KILLING THE BOTTOM GOON!

  • The sword fight is incredibly random. The most consistent method is to hold the sword vertical or horizontal the whole time. If he swings the same direction you are holding it, swing to hit him and if he goes opposite wait for him to hit you then strike (the follow up hit is far more difficult to time than the preemptive hit so don’t go for it with the gold sword in full game runs). The more swings the same orientation as you the better.

I don’t have time to update this guide comprehensively right now but there are a ton of routes. Just watch the IL or NG WR for the two routes or for the crazy best route ask in the discord (a run hasn’t been finished yet at the time of this update)

Here is an easy but outdated route with the steel sword:

  • Grab the chalice
  • Immediately after riding the elevator, drop the vase on the guard below.
  • Grab the lighter and head to the right.
  • Pick up the snake and kill the bottom goon with the rock, then take the lighter down and light the torch
  • Grab the piece of gravel and knock out the snake.
  • Go get the pole, this time grab the chalice and do the gold flakes.
  • Grab the sword and cut the rope, remember to drop the snake down when you run past it next, watch out for the goon, you shouldn’t have to wait for him.
  • Take the pole and balance to the boat, then make it crash into the mainland.
  • Grab the sword and fight the bottom goon after placing the bell.
  • Kill Barbaros and grab the snake grabber then take the elevator to the top. Be careful to avoid clicking on the big barrel.
  • You can avoid the cutscene with rose if you avoid clicking on her and walking all the way.
  • Transform and free the rose rock, take the walls to the bottom (transforming the last goon if necessary) and win!

Another more difficult route with the Gold Sword:

  • Do not grab the chalice
  • Do not kill the goon
  • Get the pole
  • Drop it near the rope
  • Get the lighter
  • Sneak past the goon
  • Interact with the snake pot
  • Kill the bottom goon if you want (you will need to wait a bit if you are fast)
  • Light the torch
  • Get the gold sword and fight the goon
  • Cut the rope
  • Get the rock and drop it on the snake
  • Hope you were fast enough to get a good elevator and goon cycle
  • Get the pole and do the gondola slow
  • Bring the fake bell down and do the rest of the level normally.

The best Any% route we have found:

  • Kill the top goon
  • Get the lighter
  • Interact with the snake pot
  • Kill the bottom goon
  • Do the sword fight with the gold sword
  • If you got 5 blocks or less light the torch
  • Cut the rope
  • Drop the rock
  • Take the elevator and get the pole
  • Drop the snake
  • Do the gondola slow and get the treasure bell
  • Light the torch if you skipped it earlier

Here are some tips:

  • In a full game run restart the level immediately to reset the elevator cycle
  • In an IL you can watch part of the opening cutscene to delay the start of the timer. If you are super fast, skip it when it is focused on the bottom right of the level then grab and drop the pole and get the lighter before going past the prison goon. The more of the opening cutscene you watch the more difficult this will be.
  • The whole level is moving even when you are interacting with stuff and when cutscenes are playing.
  • When getting the lighter as soon as the tutorial appears, point the Wii mote straight up but pointing slightly forward to prevent the skull from shaking immediately. If you shake fast enough it will only take 4 shakes for the lighter to fall out but if you are too slow it will take 5 shakes.
  • The more the prison goon sees you the more his cycle will be delayed later.
  • When walking to the boulder click behind it until Zack has walked past about half of it, then click on the boulder. This will make Zack’s pathing much faster.
  • If you don’t kill the goon at the bottom, activate the bottom gravity pad as soon as he takes a single step on the bottom of the level to avoid bumping into him but also be fast.
  • Practice the sword fight, especially if you plan on using the Gold Sword.
  • When dropping the pebble aim the Wii mote slightly below the sensor bar, move it to the right carefully and then toss it. This thing is so annoying
  • When bringing the gondola to Treasure Island, fan as fast as you can and then stop when you start moving quickly so the gondola has a soft landing.
  • Pull the rope to trip Barbaros as soon as you hear him bump into the goon on the bridge.
  • You can avoid the cutscene where you talk to Rose Rock if you avoid clicking on them.

Barbaros’s Land - Final Battle

  • ILs are pretty different from full game because of cutscenes
  • In an any% run transform the goons before you interact with the console. In an IL transform all the goons right after you shoot the first wave of goons.
  • In ILs you can move a goon totem closer to the right before transforming the second wave
  • After you do the anchor taking the next hit doesn’t matter so you can get one close goon and one far goon totem in the gun (In an any% run you barely have any time to do this even if you do the anchor really fast so don’t do more than pick up the closest goon)
  • After destroying the hands put the last 2 totems in and block the holes
  • In an Any% run reel in the anchor before plugging the holes with the totems to avoid another cutscene.
  • After you block the holes you have a couple seconds where you can crank the anchor a little bit to prepare for later.
