PS2 Controller usage: What's allowed?

I have been doing some runs on PS2 and was recently gifted an Ascii controller built for Resi. Would this be deemed as an unfair advantage when it comes to submitting runs? Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

They are perfectly fine to use as long as you don't use the turbo button

That's brill, thank you. Yeah I thought the turbo would be out of bounds but to be honest I don't even know how to work it on the controller haha!

No problem, i have that controller myself and the turbo mode is insane. On the plus side it has a very nice dpad

The Dpad is amazing, it's surprising from a third party controller.

i use my trusty ps4 controller. Feels natural to play an original PSX game with a PSX controller imo. Controllers shouldn't give you an advantage unless they can predict your inputs before you press them :)

Some controllers could be considered objectively better than others.

Try speedrun any of these games with the original Xbox 360 Dpad.
