For ILs, simply rename 0.9.x to 0.x.x and rename 0.8.x to 0.9.3.
For full game runs, split 0.9.2 and 0.9.3
Full game runs may need extra splitting depending on which tracks were added and removed in certain versions.
Renaming to 0.x makes perfect sence. A problem exists in that 0.9.2 and 0.9.3 are currently listed in the same category. I'm not sure what version duggles's IL's are, it looks a pretty old version. There are already 0.9.0\0.9.1\0.9.2\0.9.3, maybe even 0.8 runs in the 0.9 list. so switching it to 0.x makes more sense. But this needs even further analysis. 0.9.2 ILs are unbeatable in 0.9.3, thats why i suggest splitting them to 0.x and 0.9.3.
It's a really complicated problem, so many variables. It's a strange solution, but I think it could work.
The problem I just realised as I tried to change it is that doing so would completely screw up runs that are already submitted.
I think the category that already has runs submitted should be named "0.x.x" or "misc" or "any". And the clean one should be renamed "0.9.3" or "0.9.3+", then resubmit all 0.9.3 times to the clean category. The old category doesn't get messed up that way, and it solves the problem of 0.9.3 IL slowness by making a mostly blank slate. It will just mean that some 0.9.3 times will be in both categories. I don't think duplicates are a problem.
That's a massive task to go back and find out which version is which. I don't think every submission has version information attatched. Your idea is more accurate but it would be very difficult to moderate, perhaps impossible.
While we are talking about this kind of stuff, I think we should also rename the fullgame runs to align with the IL runs. Easy% - Intermediate% - Expert% instead of bronze% - silver% - gold%. bronze,silver,gold is counterintuitive.
Fixed. I've gone with 0.9.3+ and 0.9.2-
Still need to clean the submissions.
I've also moved the Grand Prix categories to the top, and moved the obsolete tracks to the bottom. Looks good?
I grabbed a 3d background from the stk official page but it has waaay too much jpeg. I'll replace it soon. I'll screenshot something and crop out the GUI.
I've been rushing through a lot of changes and getting confused, make sure I haven't made any more weird mistakes like that.
My first thought was, "Eventually, everything except 0.9.3+ will be misc" But I was completely not remembering about all the cool skips. With just 0.9.2 in misc is fine.
Did you switch 0.9.2 to misc? I tried to turn 0.8.x off misc and i got confused and I think I took it off 0.9.2. I turned 0.9.2 back to misc and left 0.8.x as regular, as you had it, that's probably the right idea.
I've turned on the "no vid, no did" setting. Do you think this is the right idea or should it be reverted? Imho we should actually go back and void any run that has no video. Imho all future submissions should be video and not ghost, it's too difficult to see what strategies are being used, when viewing a ghost replay.

Your Fort Magma skip does not work in 0.9.3, or I could not get it to work. But while I was looking on that level, I found a massive easter egg!
