There will not be a new category for it, you may still run and submit to any% but it will be automatically slower. Or you can go to NMG instead.
Steam players are able to downpatch just fine. It just takes a little finagling of the game files.
@diablo7 Your question doesn't still stand because I already answered it. There will not be another category made for it, there is literally no point as what makes it any% doesn't exist anymore and it is essentially just NMG now.
Just fyi, the previous patch is not "unstable" and downpatching is not a "workaround". This is just how it works for most speedgames when things are patched.
its still possible to run any% on a downpatch, so there isn’t really a point in creating an entirely different category which just includes novi skip. NMG seems to be the wave for console now.
these comments aren’t even negative dawg, just explanatory
You cant just downpatch like that from a digital download. Im not going to mess with my ps5 i play on the current patch because its the most stable. Im a NMG guy until a new skip is found. Telling me to downpatch when the original comment is about not downpatching but playing any% in the current patch which has since been answered with a respunding and unequivocally resounding no to my question.
i mean yeah true, console players are more screwed by it. but (most of) the comments were just answering your question: there isn’t much point in creating a new category that will be like 20 seconds faster than NMG and be practically the same.
I guess thats true now. I think theres only 1 glitch/sequence break console can do now as far as im aware. Now. Rip some of those were fun to perform too.
When a significant game patch alters the mechanics or eliminates a specific glitch that was previously used in speedruns, speedrunners may fnaf create new categories to differentiate between runs with and without the patch. For example, you might see categories like "Pre-Patch Any%" or "Post-Patch Any%" to reflect the version of the game being run.
Surely everyone is happy with the new patch. With updated improvements it ensures that tap tap shots work as well as possible.
The new patch features are really effective. Surely Any % is no longer truly viable unless downgraded. It is also very compatible with bob the robber. A very realistic and smooth experience.
As many of you know from my previous post, on April 19th 2025 Twitch will be implementing a new highlight limit of 100 hours of footage. After this date, any of your highlights over this time will be automatically deleted. And if yo
