Hello, I would like to get the opinion from people on why speedrunners have not done the mushroom clip in 1-1 as fire Mario. I have pulled it off many times RTA (not with TAS acceleration), but I have not seen anyone even attempt it. why is that?
sorry, but I could not get it to work were I could attach the video, but the TAS is by dasmilekat and is a "no L+R TAS" if that helps.
it saves nearly a tenth of a second. and Niftski even said in the description of the world record that he knew about but that it would be too hard. I don't see why, 8-4 IL had way more difficult inputs than this. if you learn anything about why it is hard or know someone that would, let me know.
Ok, you don't see "why" it is? Because of all the fast accels you have to do, and the first one is harder to get.
no I have not done a perfect 8-4 IL but I have seen the inputs for niftski's perfect 8-4 IL. I think that Niftski is very good, which is why I am confused as to why the clip hasn't been implemented. 8-4 IL does like 10 frame perfect left to right switches however I believe only three would be required to match the TAS in 1-1 as fire Mario.
Ok, i don't know. I'm not yet at that state where i study it intensively. I confess
if you no more about the inputs required or if you know if there is any kind of RNG(subpixels and subspeed ) required for the clip let me know. P.S Dragonrider042, thank you for saying something even if you weren't that deep into it. just for reaching out I will put your name in my next video on YouTube. my channel is oldshishkubob13.
no problem. I am working on a video discussing this topic about why hasn't Niftski done the tas strategy that I have been asking about on this forum. : )
perhaps is just not as important for top players and they haven't bothered yet with it? the 8-4 IL strats are like realy hard and have a lot of grind behind for top runs, they are probably much more invested in it than in completing 1-1 in a specific way
Hey Folks!
Just wanted to announce a new change to timing methods for both 11x categories. The new timing standards are as follows:
- Timing starts from power-on/reset (or game select if you're using one of the combo cartridges).
- Timing ends on grabbing the axe on the 11th run.
- Time betw
