Manipulations for Division 1

These will realistically only work on US version. You can try JP, but expect quite a bit of failing passing between tournaments.

Firstly, there is some element of frame-perfect in this run to begin the run. The first input required is when confirming your name and this will select your deck. Importance of your deck is minimal, but it can help to have Level 1 monster dice beyond the guaranteed ones. Guaranteed dice we use from the pool are Baby Dragon, Shadow Specter, Twin-Headed Dragon, Kuriboh, Mystic Horseman and Pumpking. 

Beaver Warrior, Penguin Soldier, Giant Flea, Witch's Apprentice and Mushroom Man are among the Level 1 monsters you can use that don't have an effect when summoned.

The second frame perfect input happens when you select 'Tournament' from the menu screen. If you hit this right, the seed will be fixed by actions until the conclusion of the current tournament. I would suggest following the timing used in my latest PB. You are looking for the two starts listed in Tournament 1 sheet of the link below.

Some frames nearby have the same enemy and going first, but you'll soon understand if they work. Once you hit the frame, follow the notes through to the completion of the tournament.

Frame buffer/advance means pressing B to cancel back to the field and press start to return to dice selection screen. This advances the seed by 1 for each Baby Dragon (or other flying monster) summoned on the field.

Fake dimension means going to the field, then pressing B to cancel back to dice selection screen. This advances the seed by 1 for each Baby Dragon summoned on the field.

Fake move means pretending to move Baby Dragon by a square, then cancelling. This advances the seed by 2 for each fake move i.e. once for each time Baby Dragon changes square.

At the end of a tournament, the seed begins to fluctuate on the Tournament Win screen. The strategy I use is to mash and leave the Tournament Win screen as soon as possible. I tended to hit one of three seeds - Early, Middle and Late one. Typically, I was hitting about 70% middle, 25% early and 5% late in practise. Some tournaments don't have backup routes for early and/or late seeds, so you will either have to reset or continue blind. You can surrender and buy the traditional Penguin Soldier route from Grandpa's shop.

Yu-Gi-Oh! DDM - Analysis & Divison 1 Strat

-What frame you accept your name determines your starter deck.
-You're aiming to have a mystical elf - this can be sold to fund the rest of the deck.
-The speedrunning deck consists of 4 Ryu-Kishins, 6 Beaver Warriors and 5 Penguin Soldiers.

-Why? Because:
¤The only crests we need in this run are attack and movement. The crests of those 3 monsters only consist of attack and movement.
¤They're easier to summon, thanks to their low levels. 
¤They're cheap, and can be bought quickly at the start of the game.

Opponents:
-The frame on which you select "Tournament" in the main menu decides your rolls in the first round, and your position in the tournament you selected.
-It also has a factor in who your opponent is, but choosing a different tournament will change your opponent.
-However, if you consistently enter the same tournament on the same frame, you will always have the same opponent.
-Therefore, it might be advantageous to wait or select a different tournament first, in order to have a better opponent/first turn roll. (seed manipulation)
-The thing that decides who goes first in the duel hasn't been discovered yet - however, it's faster for the player to go first.
-More research needs to be done on this!

Rolls:
-The frame on which you select "Tournament" in the main menu decides your rolls in the first round
-However, the rolls after the first round seem to be influenced also by how many turns it took you to finish off your opponent in the last round.
-You can influence dice rolls mid-match by selecting different-levelled dice.
-More research needs to be done on this!

AI
-All opponents play the game differently
-However, the same opponent will play the same match differently, dependent on what the human player does
-It also depends on how many turns the last duel took, similar to how rolls work.
-The AI has a 90/10% ratio of building in a leftward direction - build rightward to get around him (wrapping)
-More research needs to be done on this!

Drops/Winnings:
-No research has been done into this.

Strat:
Buy 6 Beaver Warriors, exit
Go to dice pool, withdraw Mystical Elf, Check Ryu-Kishin amount
Sell Mystical Elf, buy Ryu-Kishin until you have 4
Buy 5 Penguin Soldiers, enter launch selects
Sort out deck: 5 pengs, 4 kishins, 6 beavers

Tips:
When selecting dice, always choose the first die for speed,
and use the seek function if looking for particular crests

Try and swarm the die master, and also have attack/movement
crests built up before going for the attack

Get to the die master ASAP!

After a good roll, always select the second dice, so that you
don't waste time selecting dice next roll.

Average enemy turn: 14 seconds
Average enemy turn (excluding summon): 8 seconds
