Boss Fight Guide for Beginners

This guide will provide explanations for every boss fight in Wario World. Only "End of level bosses" and "World Bosses" will be included in this guide. Explanations will be in the form of text with videos showing key points of each fight. Each fight will also be broken down by using the most beginner friendly strategy known at the time of writing. Chapter 1

Our first boss is Greenfist. As soon as the fight starts, walk up to him and perform a 3-hit combo. After this step is done jump above Greenfist and perform a ground pound, this single ground pound should hit 3 more times. After the ground pound hits Greenfist, he should start to charge up an attack. At this point walk to the northernmost part of the arena and jump over him as he gets close. This will cause him to take his first point of damage. As Greenfist is recovering, position Wario as close to the northernmost ledge as possible with Wario facing toward the camera. When Greenfist lands in front of Wario again, simply punch a single time then attempt to grab him immediately. Once you grab him perform a piledriver without moving from the original position. This will do two more skulls of damage to Greenfist. Once he lands on the platform again, he will scream and give you the boss medal and the fight will be over.

Chapter 2

Our next boss is Antlion. The first two cycles of the fight are the same as a casual run. Run up to the boss and perform a 3-hit combo until they have 3 skulls remaining. Antlion will attempt to go to the center of the arena to perform an invincible attack. This attack can be interrupted by attacking just before the boss becomes invincible (link below shows a cycle skip). After interrupting the invincible attack, dodge a charge attack that cannot be interrupted. After this attack the antlion will repeat the process of going into the center, repeat the cycle interruption again until antlion is dead.

Chapter 3

Our first world boss is Dinomighty. To perform a quick version of the fight, stand still for about a second until she leans down, fully jump, then ground pound. This should knock her out instantly. Pick her up then perform a piledriver, once done you don't need to move at all. The next step is to wait for about another second after Wario touches the ground after the piledriver, then jump and ground pound again as she is about to jump back up. This should also instantly stun Dinomighty again. Repeat this process until the boss fight is over.

Chapter 4

Brawl Doll is our next level boss. A fast fight can be done similarly to a casual playthrough boss fight. For the doll's first life, attack them normally until they are stunned and perform a piledriver. For lives' 2 through 5 grab the pillars around the arena while dodging the lasers that Brawl Doll will shoot. After each round of lasers Brawl Doll will become vulnerable, throw a pillar at it to stun it and repeat the process until the fight is over. Please note that pillars should respawn after they are all destroyed.

Chapter 5

Clown Around has an interesting strategy for beating them. The fight will start with the boss rolling their circus ball across a tightrope toward you. Simply wait in place until they throw the ball away and remove their heads to become vulnerable and stun them as you would any other enemy. At this point, pick them up and perform a charged throw toward the opposite platform. This will make the boss jump back on their circus ball and travel toward Wario again. In the next part of the fight, Clown around will return to your side and throw their ball and remove their heads again. Stun them again at this point and perform a piledriver. Once done, the boss will spawn another circus ball and attempt to flee. Jump onto one of the glue globes attached to the ball to follow them. Once across, stun them again and perform another charged throw toward the opposite platform. This is where things get tricky, after throwing Clown Around across the gap wait for three seconds and walk off the stage closest to the opposite platform. This will cause Wario to spawn on the side with Clown Around on it as they return to the platform. The boss will have thrown their ball across the gap toward the previous platform. Hit them as soon as possible after Wario respawns to cause them to flee then follow them like before by jumping on a glue globe. Once across, stun the boss again and repeat the previous step to complete the fight. (Link below for respawn timing)

Chapter 6

Dual Dragon is a very easy boss to defeat. As the fight starts, punch one of the dragon heads repeatedly to stun them until they get hit by a fire blast from the opposite head. After the fire goes away start punching the opposite head six times and wait for another fire blast from the previous head. This should have done two skulls of damage thus far. Now you will have to wait because the head you just stunned will now shoot glue globes out of its mouth and the opposite one will suck them in. After the glue globe are gone, stun the head that shot the glue globes out by hitting it six times again and wait for another fire blast. Repeat the previous step one more time and if you're successful, Dual Dragon should have two skulls remaining. Stun one of the dragon heads again until it is hit by another fire blast. This time, Dual Dragon will shoot another fire blast immediately. Try to stun the opposite dragon head again to complete the boss fight. (Link below shows the gist of the fight)

Chapter 7

Winter Windster is a floating boss that drops cannonballs periodically between it's attacks. To defeat the boss wait until they drop a cannonball, grab it, then stand next to the west crater. The boss will attack with a chilling breath to freeze Wario. Allow this to hit Wario then break out as soon as possible and punch the boss until they are stunned. after they are stunned pick up the cannonball again and throw it into the northern crater. Come back to pick up Winter Windster and piledrive them next to the northern crater. After this piledriver the boss will attempt to float up again, but they should get hit by the fire flowing from the crater and become vulnerable again. Stun winter windster again, then piledrive them next to the western crater. They will float up into the air again at this point and drop cannonballs again. Grab a cannonball without being crushed by other potential cannonballs spawning, then throw it into the eastern crater to stun the boss. More cannonballs should have spawned right before the east crater erupted. After the boss is stunned, pick up another cannonball and throw it into the eastern crater again. Pick up the boss and piledrive them next to the eastern crater and punch them again after they get hit by the eruption. At this point, simply wait until Winter Windster perform another breath attack. Allow this to hit Wario again then break out and punch the boss until they are stunned. Perform a piledriver to complete the fight. (Link below for the gist of the fight)

Chapter 8

Spideraticus is a fast paced boss that many consider to be the hardest fight in the game. To start the fight, dodge the first attack by jumping over it, then wait for the next attack. Once the next attack begins charging, take one step to the side then perform a corkscrew conk toward Spideraticus. If done properly, this should hit the boss one time. As soon as Wario lands from the corkscrew conk, perform a dash to hit the boss at least four more times, then perform a punch combo to fully stun the boss. At this point, pick up the boss and walk to the edge of the web, then perform a piledriver. Make sure you are facing the web when performing the pileriver. Spideraticus will try to return to the center of the arena after it recovers, intercept by running behind him then ground pounding over the boss. Stagger punches after this first hit until the boss is stunned again. Repeat this process until the boss is defeated. (Link below shows placements of piledrivers and punch patterns.)

Chapter 9

Red-Brief J is simply a waiting game for the most part. As far as strategy goes, there are many different ways to fight Red-Brief J. However the safest fast strategy goes as such. For the first skull of damage, simply walk around the boss toward the edge of the platform behind Red-Brief J and wait for him to charge. Once he has charged at the ledge, perform a ground pound near the center of the arena to knock him into the lava without damaging Wario. For the second skull, walk straight toward a flat edge of the arena and wait for the boss to follow you. Once he starts his next attack, perform a ground pound to cancel it. If done correctly, the boss should bounce closer to the center of the arena. Once they stop bouncing, punch them quickly to trigger their next attack. They will glow pink and perform a spinning move. Allow yourself to get hit by this to end the animation faster. After Wario recovers, get to the closest edge and dodge the charges Red-Brief J does. (Link below for skull 2)

For the third skull, Simply walk as far away from the boss as possible to trigger their attacks faster. Red-Brief J will use two attacks on this skull, then perform his charges. Dodge the charges as usual, then ground pound to complete the skull. Skull four requires precise movement. To start the skull off, you'll want to stand somewhat close to the boss, roughly about a full stride away. Now we want Red-Brief J to start walking after us out onto the grate part of the platform. To make him walk with Wario, we want to stay as close to the boss as possible without getting hit by his stomps. Once out on the grate, the boss will perform a shooting attack, ground pound the platform to cancel the attack. Once his attack is canceled, walk far away again to trigger his next attack faster. Wait for his charges again near the edge of the arena, then dodge them as usual to end the skull. (Link below shows how to "walk" Red-Brief J)

For the fifth and final skull, Walk as far away from the boss to trigger their attacks as soon as possible. For his second attack, he should perform a spinning attack from before. Allow Wario to get hit by this spinning attack, then be prepared to dodge Red-Brief J's Charge attacks. After the charges, ground pound near the center of the arena to send him into the lava.

Note: Red-Brief J is NOT defeated until they land on the platform and begin to fall over.

Chapter 10

Mean Emcee is admittedly not much different to fight in a speedrun compared to a normal playthrough. To start the fight, run up to the boss and start using staggered punches until they either start crouching, or until you hit them five times. If Mean Emcee crouches, he becomes invincible and must finish his charging move until he can be hit a fifth time. After the fifth hit during every cycle, the boss will enter a cup and perform a game of guess the cup with you. Simply follow the cup the boss is in to the best of your ability, then punch the correct cup once on the ground, then once in the air to knock Mean Emcee out of said cup. Perform a piledriver to the boss and repeat the process until the fight is over. (Link Below to show gist of the fight)

Note: Mean Emcee is NOT defeated until they explode.

Chapter 11

Ironsider is an Invincible entity with floating hands spawning in the arena periodically. To defeat the boss, simply stun a hand, then throw it at Ironsider for a skull of damage. You can also piledrive a hand into Ironsider for a skull of damage as well. Sadly, there is not much advice to give about Ironsider, other than to aim your throws carefully to ensure you hit the boss instead of another hand. At the beginning of the fight only two hands will spawn, but more will start spawning throughout the fight. These hands can also be destroyed by Ironsider's fire breath attack. To dodge this attack, simply perform small circles around the boss following the direction they are spinning. Once you hit Ironsider with five hands, they will scream and the fight will be over. Chapter 12

Captain Skull is a very quick fight if done properly. To start off, jump onto the spring and launch yourself across toward the opposite ship from where Wario is currently. Next, perform a punch combo on the boss to stun him. Once stunned, pick up the boss and carry them over to the northeastern side of the ship. In this area, there is a small ledge with a barrel on it. Jump onto the ledge with Captain Skull then stand as close to the left edge as possible while also facing left. Perform a piledriver, then immediately turn around and grab the barrel. At this point Captain Skull will try to jump away to start his next cycle. To stop this, hit him with the barrel as they get up to stun them again. If done properly, you should be able to pick the boss back up. Now, travel to the southeastern side of the ship and repeat the previous step. After Captain Skull is stunned with another barrel, there will be a ledge to the right with two more barrels on it. Jump down to it and position yourself far enough away from the barrels to prevent their destruction. Piledrive the boss again, grab a barrel, time your throw, then repeat the process once more until the fight is complete. (Link below for the entire fight)

Chapter 13

The final boss of the game is Black Jewel. To start the fight, Black Jewel will spawn five crystals the hold Spritelings in them. To make the boss vulnerable, you must break all of the crystals, Then you can perform a very short Wild Swing Ding on Black Jewel to damage it. To break the crystals as fast as possible, wait for the boss to shoot a fire laser across the ground. Walk somewhat close to the fire column, then start dashing to the right over and over until you come across a crystal. With a good angle on your dashes, Wario should be able to break these crystals while he's running. If a crystal doesn't break, simply cancel your dash and punch it, then start dashing again until the boss is stunned. There is a chance that before your break the final crystal on each cycle for Black Jewel to shoot fireballs around the arena. This attack tried to home in on Wario, and can interrupt your attack on Black Jewel so be sure to simply wait if needed. Repeat this process seven times to defeat the boss and win the game!
