During some run I accidentally broke the game...
If you press TAB + C in the start game setup, where you can adjust game options and set players to humans or AI, you can enter a city view which is pretty broken. The capital of the fractions are not yet set properly and when you "end the turn" in this screen you'll spawn some troops, but you're stuck in the upper left corner and after the last player (usually black) has finished the 1st turn the game realizes that nobody has a city and no player is in the game and shuts it down.

I don't think that it is very useful for speedrunning, but you never know ;D
Wanted to share this anyway. Maybe I'll explore some more of this one day, pretty weird & fun experience out of nowhere. (O_o)

Take a look at the boat on land:

Go back to 9:35 to see how it happens: the hero attacks the city from the sea, then the spider and still has movement remaining. He could have moved the hero at this point to "enter" the land zone so that he's on land the next turn. Still a weird thing to see.

Exactly, the button with the ! is somehow bugged out. No clue if this implies anything we could exploit. We don't even know why it happened. It is there from the start of following run:

I had more bugs. In the same video you posted, check out second 4. The lord of fire (red) button is greyed out, but you can still set him to knight. I don't think it has any effect though.

I believe these bugs are graphical only. Also in some other run, this blue glitched "!" button was red instead of blue.

Also, when you did Alt+X, and press Alt+E when your turn is done, rarely, the Alt+X-Screen will turn up, but the turn ended nonetheless and enemies start moving. But you need to click it away nonetheless.
