Playing with Mouse Steering and Manual Transmission but is still a pretty damn tough game to beat in first place in the default difficulty.

At least I got that killer 0'48 lap that is my first time having one...I think that if I somehow manage to get consistently those then I could get first place for real. But easier said than done, especially fighting the muscle memory of left handed steering with the controller/keyboard compared to steering with the right hand through the mouse.

...Yes, I played this with Keyboard and Mouse. Credits to rebu_uber on Youtube for the enlightment in that regard, as they had flexed at least one Daytona USA 2 run and one Scud Race run with KB+M mentioned on the description. At least in Virtua Racing it feels more doable to practice because steering for good lines is one big part of the puzzle along with braking + gearshifts for speed control, compared to having to also keep an eye in high speed drifts with the mouse.
