First, I like this game a lot, and the janky controls were never a problem for me. I mean, until I decided to speedrun it.
This time was achieved by: a careful analysis of enemies spawning (and how to delay or despawn a few of them), tons of attempts on each boss, using different strats, so I didn't have to rely on hard mashing (nothing i could do about the 2nd boss, though), and getting consistent on those painful jump kicks.
While short, this game is very demanding control-wise, when trying to save time. Still, I'm very satisfied with the results of this grind, and particularly happy for figuring out a new strat for the final boss, that I never saw before and saved a lot of time.
Played on BizHawk 2.10-rc1 emulator, with a DualShock 4 controller.
