The pellsson rom doesn't have the FDS minus world or the non-ending minus world it takes you to the underground in 1-1 which is now underwater. Also, kosmic was using a rom hack made by somewes not sure where to get it tho FrankerZ

The TAS is 20 frames faster in 1-1 and doesn't save the framerule. Also, sockfolder saves 15 frames and doing a non-setup saves 19. The fast acceleration at the start of 8-1 saves 2 frames so doing that without sockfolder setup would save 21 frames.

I seen the other day he said he "saved the 8-1 framerule" but I'm not sure about that looking at his other videos..

Antarcticaxx_420_blazit_xx5 years ago

is there a video of warpedclip doing this because no vid no did otherwise.

Antarcticaxx_420_blazit_xx5 years ago

8-1 has been done by 4 people hmm. who is this 4th person? ?

Antarcticaxx_420_blazit_xx5 years ago

You can get a 342 by either doing a walljump or just jumping onto the spring with out bumping into it like you did. Bumping on that spring is only to delay so you don't get a 6 on the timer for non small fire runs.

Somewes has a 4:56.495 and a run that tied darbian's time that has all tricks if that counts

If you go really slow I would use a program like vdub to get the estimated frame count and get the closest 8-X. Like if you got an 8-C last room and got 0:47.764 vdub timing you can look on the spreadsheet and see the time is actually 0:47.755

Antarcticaxx_420_blazit_xx5 years ago

For people who use the pellsson rom and or the sockfolder rom for 8-4 IL attempts. Using the 8-X or X number in the last room to get the final time. Modified Re-time spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1hv47h27sQtboqzvjNwhB0nDgFcihpWRei-aA8lTiejs/edit#gid=0

In 8-3 a 244 is the same speed as a 242 FPG and the "human theory TAS" that you are talking about really isn't a human theory but a TAS that doesn't use left+right so it follows RTA rules. In the no left+right TAS there are unreasonable time saves such as a faster 4-2 , a faster bullet-shot in 8-2 with fast accel and a bunch of time save in 8-4 doing unreasonable fast accelerations. The actual human theory is somewhere around 4:55.1 or 4:55.2 adding in the 8-1 framerule.

First used in a "Human Theory" TAS made a while back by HappyLee. Set-up: Buffer a Full jump at the start of the level then you have 3 different frames to let go of right In the air. It can be at any point in the level before the stair inputs.

Releasing Right Info: 0 frame right release: Doing D70 inputs = Gives D30 Doing D50 inputs = Gives D10

1 frame right release: Doing D70 inputs = Gives D50 Doing D50 inputs = Gives D30

2 frame right release: Doing D70 inputs = Gives D70 Doing D50 inputs = Gives D50

3 frame right release: Doing D70 inputs = Gives D90 Doing D50 inputs = Gives D70

Notes:

  • If you think you got a 3 frame release go for D50 set-up since the D70 set-up gives you D90.
  • D30 is humanly possible but is very hard to do.
  • The range that is humanly possible is D30 - D70

Examples:

It was also recently used an any% run by somewes:

Thanks to Somewes for info about this and help figuring the set-up out.

I know it stands for arbitrary code execution but I'm not sure about the definition

Adding more since there were times where we couldn't time a run because the pattern wasn't on the Spreadsheet SeemsGood FrankerZ
