Low pct always qualifies as a true category imo in most games but the 3dw community doesn't seem to be active enough to warrant any new cats at this point. From what I can tell only myself and about 5-10 others at very most post new runs consistently and that's tiny for a Mario game! If anything we should be getting together to push any pct and try to build a bigger group

I agree with everything you said in the post. The only misc category I wanna see come back is beat World 5. Active runners dothis category as a race all the time and it meets your criteria for being different enough from any % not to be stupid. Lastly, enough people would and can do it that someone couldn't just get a cheap/free WR

The only problem is that to practice you need two runners who are close in skill level that can get together in person often enough to route and practice it.

Honestly, if you can't do touch strats or captain toad I would consider running a different game or at least saving up some money for a game pad. Just in world 7 bowser fight you're looking at 3-5 minutes extra time. The routing is so precise and well thought out by people much better then I am and it would be kind of a waste not to utilize it. That being said this is the funniest game I've ever speedrun so if you decide to move ahead anyway I'd be happy to try and help. Just post places you feel you want to get stars and I'll help route it.
