Total of holes of the complete run: 68
This sounds to one of the most challenging and patience categorys and skilled that you wiil find, hope you like and enjoy the category, it could be the potential 5th category, if not, it could be an unnoficial category and please put your run here in the forum, hope you enjoy this incredible task. Thanks all for your support, and thanks to Skunky for being the first that played this category.
Here it is the full and complete run of the only Raphael category, and it is also a new PB and WR of 33:26.
Please see it complete all the run, you will enjoy it, guaranteed, also you can do your own only Raphael category run and put it here in the forum, just enjoy the game and have fun. Is really realaxing this run, a break from the infinite any% category. And also Don needs a little vacation or break some time, so enjoy it and thanks all for your support as always.
Hello everyone:
Only Raphael Category rules: Start: When you gain control of the Turtle Change inmediatly to Raph, and never change again of Turtle. Continues not allowed, because you will use other turtle to die, so this category is not legitimate if you use continue, be careful with that. Ends: On the last hit to Shredder.
I just beated the Raphael category, and as it's reputation is not easy et all, and I don't mean because of the famous or infamous poor range of Raphael, the no boost of Raphael when has below the 50% of health or the no down attack of Rapha, or the no speed as Mike. It is so difficult because I was to be extra careful with the shitty weapon drop everywhere beyond Area 3: Building 4, the moment I got my scrolls.
Things I needed for beat the game: 1.- Random start button (I don't care where is Technodrome, you are not guaranteed to get that far, and you can stress by that, just enjoy). 2.- Try to have always the 100% health of Raphael all the time, so got the pizza of shame, pizza of humillation and the pizza of lies that are in the normal road-route. 3.- Swim very careful and wait for all the current electrics, also be careful with the bizarre spinning thing, and the most important thing is that after the 4th bomb, you need to swim extra careful to receive 2 or maxium 3 hits of the coral. 4.- Be careful in Area 3: Building 2, getting the slice pizza and going up with the glitch for the missiles, hope for a weapn drop to kill some fire freaks or robos mainly. 5.- Go to my classic and signature Area 3: Building 4 for the scrolls, you need to get five times the scroll to get the 99 maxium scroll, also there is a full pizza that you can get at the end of that to be at 100%. The moment you gain your first scrolls begins the good part of this run, you need to be extra careful with every enemy and every hazard in the game, because your worst enemy will be the shitty weapon drop. So use always your scrolls with the most powerful and randoms enemys as: Fire Freak, Boomerang guys, and if you see something that could get you out of the way, or a danger of the possibly weapon drop. 6.- Beat your Mecha Turtle with 7 hits of the scrolls, the next level beat the hamburguer lasers and the foot bandits with scrolls, but don't go extremely fast, because you know what happens. (shitty weapon drop). 7.- Take the normal route, be extra careful by not receiving damage of Raph, kill boomerang guys with scroll, also Beetles in case. Go top route in the first difficult spikes level and be careful of the weapon drop all the time. 8.- Take Area 4: Level 12 (the one with a lot of laser alarms), kill that alarms with your scrolls, because you don't need to rescue a turtle, also is faster, easier, has a full pizza and don't have the danger of the lava room (lava room will give you lot of damage, kill you with the lava, give you a shitty weapon drop, all include, and you can kill Big mousser without scrolls, just pause it, and give him 2 hits, if you need more scrolls there plenty in Area 5: Building 1). 9.- To kill big mousser, just pause it the moment he opens the mouth, do a side hit, with out getting damage, just give him 2 hits and be patient. Also because you have wasted a lot of time compared to other categorys, when you kill Big mousser you can go all to the left, to have the long walk just for fun. 10.- Go to cave 1, go to cave 2 and hope there is the technodrome, in my run it was in cave 2 thankfully. But any emergency go for the pizza of shame in the Area 5: building 2, always with the careful of the weapon drop, never forget that happens what it happens please. 11.- To kill technodrome, just put your turtle all to the left, spam the scrolls exactly in the fork, then in the 2 cannons at the same time to the Foot soldier launcher. When Technodrome Guardian has no weapons left, just go to his coveyor wheels, wait for the eye open, and attack him from behind, just one hit at the time, don't get hit and be patient, is easy and enjoyable. 12.- Finally area 6. Use your scrolls for the first enemys, then avoid the spinning things by ducking, if your Raph is in perfect health don't fo for the first pizza of lies, instead proceed to go top route, kill the Mecha kangarros with 2 hits, and the be very careful because of your enemy count in this level the weapon drop is near. Go for the scrolls, then go down, kill the mecha cangaroo the same, go down, go left and get the full pizza, then proceed normal route, beware the jetpacks, just duck and go for the turtle power, avoid by any means the weapon drop and arrieve to the final corridor. Be sure to have the good way with the jetpacks, if the go lower, just send them 2 scrolls and keep going, go all the way, hope for no weapon drop, because Raph can't kill the spinning things, neither can do damage ducking to the final jetpack subboss. 13.- Finally with Shredder, just give him the awesome 18 hits, with no scrolls, and celebrate with a pizza an upload your run to this forum. My time was easily more than an hour, maybe somebody could pass it in less time, but I know it won't be in the first attepmt and will have a really hard time. So the PB can be easily imrpove by somebody brave enough, but remember this is an unnoficial category and a undersused, neverused category, so you won't play this often, just once in your lifetime maybe, so enjoy the run, and the objetive is to beat the category, remember that.
Maybe this could be the 4th category if you like it, if it won't be a official category, you could still play it, and post in this thread your run, with your timer and your comments.
Enjoy, and have a fun time.
Here it is the one and only ALL PIZZAS CATEGORY. Enjoy it please. With the last rules my PB was of 24:59, but with new rules I think 40 minutes aprox. Please watch the complete run, you will enjoy it.
I got a legendary 19:50 today, impressive. Really impressive, only little bit bad technodrome fight. Thanks for your support. Is a ton of time for my PB. Sorry I couldn't record it. But i hope soon I will have the tools to record it, and just to beat the 14th and maybe the 13th place will be excellent. No problem, with a physical NES console and the tools to record it I could have it some time that PB recorded, similar.
I got a new impressive PB:
My PB of today was 20:14. This is my best PB ever. Sorry I didn't have the tools to record it, I only have the photo in my cel of my timer. Still not a time to beat the powerful 13th place, but no problem, I only like to beath the 14th place with that 20:39.
Things I needed to do for this:
1.- Get the first weapon drop with Mike. 2.- Most of the speed boosts of DAM. Except the second one near to the bizzarre spinning thing, that is really hard. 3.- Raph to the minium to die in one hit against Robo and changed to Donatello for Area 3: Building 4, so the same Donatello killed faster the Giant Frog, avoided the second Giant Frog, didn't die with the Fire Freaks to Leonardo to get the scroll. (so that's one change less). 4.- Mike beated the fire freak with the boomerangs of Area 3: level 7, then I didn't recover Leo with the full pizza, neither Mike, the only one that received that pizza was Donatello. 5.- Then Leonardo killed Mecha Turtle in just 6 hits, no more, because of the damage boost, with my scrolls. This is the fastest posible Mecha Turtle death ever, so it give me a time of 10:00 minutes when I beated Mecha Turtle. 6.- Then the same Leo did the rope skips, the Spobble trick get the foot bandit sleep and the same Leo was going on until the next stopping point enemy Boomerang sub boss attacked, so Donatello beated. 7.- All the way to the Nes Master Fireworks with a peace of 13:14 aprox, that was impressive. Take it top route of lava room for safety, weapon drop was taken by Raph and that full pizza was for Donatello. 8.- Fast kill of Mecha Mousser except the start glitch that is impressive difficult to get, so i did the Donatello scroll special and beat it with 5 hits. 9.- Finally a good start button (this is harder to get in the real physical NES console), and got the damage from the Technodrome to get the Donatello boost for a quick kill to Technodroime guardian and hang on the damage of the foot soldier that is in the bottom of the conveyor wheel of the technodrome. 10.- Finally i did the first ceiling of the technodrome with Mike in 3 attempts, go all the way, Leo killed with last scrolls does boomerang guys before the last Mr. Invencibility turtle power, put the shitty weapon drop in the place for Leo. 11.- Finally Don was very secure of himself in the last corridor, didn't changed turtle when he only remained the final 7 scrolls needed for jetpack and Shredder. And gave some scrolls before Shredder take the floor Red style (no as powerful as his style).
So I got my PB of 20:14 My only goal is 20:38 for beat the 14th and estimate of 25 minutes always to have the official estimate for the game. With this strats is impossible to beat the 13th place, but no problem I am happy with this PB. That's all.
Good luck to top runners Whitman, Red and Skunky to get that 17:08 and also good luck to anybody's PB's., Thanks all for your support, really apreciete it, and enjoy the game.
Update of this category and new set of rules:
So I have tested this category and run, and I take it seriously, and it was good, I will put my run in this days, so there is going to be a change in the rules.
The first change is that, you no longer need to die in the guillotine of Area 4. And the second is that you need to go for the remainning 8 pizzas of Area 5 and 6.
So here is the final set of rules of this category:
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES (NES) ALL PIZZAS CATEGORY

Area 6: Technodrome Area 6: Part 1: Full Pizza Area 6: Part 2: Half Pizza + Full Pizza Total of pizzas 3
Total of pizzas of the run: 32. Run ends when you beat Shredder after you have collected the complete collection of 32 pizzas.
Well this is the final set of rules and my final idea for a 3rd category, I take it seriously, It is a fun category, some unseen levels that you forgot that exist in the game, good difficulty and challenge especially in areas 5 and 6, and I have really good routed this category, I already record it, I will post it in this topic as soon as I can my run.
I would hope this can be the official 3rd category of this awesome cartridge, let's show some love to this great game. And thanks all for your support as always, really apreciete it.
Start: Time begins when you gain character control You have to collect all 24 pizzas Timer ends: Timing ends on the last hit of the guillotine of the impossible throll pizza of Area 4: Level 17. Trying to reach that pizza, the closest as possible.
Area 1: Fifth Avenue Areal 1: Level 1: 1/4 pizza Area 1: Level 3: 1/4 pizza + full pizza Area 1: Level 5: 1/4 pizza Total of pizzas: 4 pizzas.
Area 2: Hudson River Area 2: Level 1: 1/2 pizza + full pizza Total of pizzas: 2 pizzas
Area 3: Wall Street Area 3: Level 1: Full Pizza Area 3: Level 2: Full Pizza + 1/4 pizza Area 3: Level 3: Full Pizza Area 3: Level 4: 1/2 pizza + full pizza Area 3: Level 5: 1/2 pizza Area 3: Level 6: 1/2 pizza + full pizza Total of pizzas: 9
Area 4: JFK International Airport (and final area) Area 4: Level 1: Full pizza + 1/2 pizza Area 4: Level 7: 1/2 pizza Area 4: Level 11: Full pizza Area 4: Level 12:Full pizza Area 4: Level: 15: Full pizza Area 4: Level 16: Full pizza + half pizza Area 4: Level 17: 1/4 pizza Total of pizzas: 9
Total of pizzas of the run: 24. Run ends tryng to get the impossible pizza, the closest as possible, die in that part of the guillotine.
Well this is my idea for a possible 3rd category, you won't have the Technodrome location issue and might be fun, you will see some unseen levels, and have some challenge in some of that areas, believe me. I will be practicing this idea, and when I get some consistent i would try to record the video to post it in this topic, and if you agree, maybe it could be the third category, hope you like my idea.
Thanks all for your support must apreciete it.
This is my life right now in this game:
I got my best PB and time possible, and my final goal in this game. A solid 20:35 because the 14th place is the 20:38. I sorry I don't have a capture card to save it, but when I have the possibiliti I will try to beat that 20:38 in video, no problem.
Things I needed for that: (and I only tried 2 times, that is great for me)
My peace aprox: Area 1: 1:20 to 1:23 Sploosh: 2:45 to 2:50 aprox Area 2: 4:40 aprox Area 3: 10:15 to 10:25 aprox Area 4: 16 minutes exact, no second after Area 5 Cave 1 technodrome: 17:00 to 17:30 aprox Area 6/PB/WR for my person and for my goal: 20:35 (goal was to beat 20:38, because my best times was around 20:30 to 20:59 with cave 1 and good play, and was the nearest in leaderboard).
1.- Exact start button 2.- Good techniques and consistent 3.- No damage against Rocksteady 4.- No pizza of shame of Area 2 and kill that final Rock guy with 2 hits of Donatello 5.- Some speed boosts in the Hudson River DAM (near the Holland tunnel). I need to defuse a bomb with Skunky method (2:09 instead of 2:10). Also exact damage for my Raph (I kill Raph in Area 3). 6.- Little bit faster my Mecha Turtle fight (3 scrolls disguise form and 4 real form, but with left right technique 1 second faster) 7.- Good jump in the conveyors or the lava room of the Area 4. (that is the most dangerous jump in the game). 8.- Good and fast kill with Donatello special to Big Mousser, like 5 hits aprox. And killed like 1 mini mousser aprox. 9.- Excelent Technodrome fight for me (that is one of the things I haven't masterd totally for my route and gameplay). Killed the first missile shouter, then proceed to the eye with Donatello special, and receive little damage from a foot, that was totally clue, with out that maybe I can't PB). 10.- Finally 2 trys for ceilling glitch (the first ceiling glitch, not the WR ceiling glitch). Then solid and common style for the rest of technodrome.
Well thanks to all for your support, hope all of you get your PB's that you want in the games you are currently playing, nice greetings and have a good night.
Extra: I got in trainning the conveyor boost by luck 2 times, but that was all.
I always use the bullding 3 that you said. It includes a scroll and a rope. Also if your Turtle has the boost, you kill Mechaturtle disguise form in 3 hits and 3 hits for Mechaturtle real form.
But is not 40 seconds, try it, is 1 minute exact.
But don't forget one important thing, beware or be careful of the shitty weapon drop. I put in a Turtle that waits to Mechaturle battle, in this case for me Leonardo.
This route is the best for me to get the estimate of 25 minutes that you need in official events. But you can't have a WR with this route, you will be minium one minute behind. But ask master Skunky, Whit and Red to hear what do they think.
My PB is 20:30 and I use this 3rd builnding, I am happy with that. And I have beat the game even with cave 3 in 22 minutes as my PB.
Hello Friend Red:
Well yeah for a PB and for WR there is only Cave 1.
But you can think to what happens in an event like Best of NES and AGDQ, you need to have back up strats for the other 2 caves, and be prepare to get the estimate that is 25 minutes. So what I say is that there is no need to feel little sad if Technodrome is not in cave 1.
Well as for me, as for my experience, the secret of the Technodrome is that it is 50% - 50%. 50% for cave 1 and 2 (and then they put it random to you any of those 2 if you get it) and 50% for cave 3. So if I get cave 1 and 2 for me is positive, because it means I had the good start button at the end. (i put the exact moment ultra credits are gone).
I know you are gonna say that some guys searched the game ant other words and is ok, but for me, and for my experience, the real secret of the Technodrome is 50% 50%. I press the start button same time always and also I write in my notebook always if I get cave 1,2 and 3. and the majority goes to cave 1 and 2 with more than 70 gones and for cave 3 only like 20 iimes. Yes it depends one second before or after, but for the majority I get my cave 1 and 2, and that is why for me is 50% 50% in my experience.
Well Red you still have the wrong warp record, that is something nobody have done, my respects and congratulations for that. Have a nice day and hope to see you soon with your new PB.
Thanks for the new strats in the lava section, very impressive.
Thanks again.
Wow. Impressive work. Thanks Red.
So the Technodrome original design was bigger than we think? Maybe the original idea is that this was meant to be an impressive maze or something.
I like this, thanks for helping to know more of our favorite game all time.
Thanks for the video.
Nice work. Hope you can master this and use it, very good new strat. I like it too.
Thanks Skunky for the video.
Yeah I think if you can master this it will work. You did it good in that try.
(final update)Sorry guys:
Please change the title to theory.
I play it again by this, i did it everything correctly and Technodrome Guardian once again changed location. I think it was a good theory and a good try.
Because I beat it the game 3 times in a row another time, and the 3 times was in different position. I believed this because in my last play, was 3 times in a row same position and I pressed start at random time in the Title screen. And I think as the High Score doesn't change, and as Red that went back to the past in a run an technodrome didn't change. I though the game will think that some how was the same run, and the game goes normally.
If somebody get different results, welcome that.
So the only safe method to have your Technodrome is like Skunky say once, new strat "just press start button at random time". Or the other strar, everybody press start the time everybody feels confortable, everyone could have different timing for the start at any time, and if you get the Technodrome and on, think at it is a bonus of the game (as Skunky said too).
Sorry guys again, but I hope it was a nice try.
No game over, no continues. Is what I have. I will test this more.
Yeah I never figured out that somebody could use the game over with this.
I will prove this more. The only drawback I founded so far is that you never go to the animation where the Turtles show weapons, attacks and names, because as you have tested before, if you do that, the game goes back to title screen, and I think the game thinks you are reseting the game.
So I had 3 runs in a row, I started start button at random time, but during the screen logo of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Only until my 4 run i let it go and go as far as the animation of the Turtles, and then Technodrome changed.
BUt as you said. Technodrome always deserves our best respect no matter what. But is a good possibilitie. I would test this more if I can. And see how much runs in a row I can have without problem. Hope something good comes from this. Thanks to all.
I was playing in a real console.
But this has only one drawback.
When you beat the game press start before the Turtles appear (when they are showing their weapons and names). That's the only thing. Because if you wait that long, the game makes the same as a reset, and Technodrome will change again. That's the only thing so please press start before the Turtles appear with their weapons and names in that animation please. That's all.
I think it will be the same for emulator, but please somebody try that. I was playing in a real physical NES console.
(update) Confirmed:
I have beaten the game 3 times in a row (no power off or reset after each beating of the game).
The 3 times the Technodrome was in the same cave (for my runs cave 2).
I went directly the 3 times to cave 2, and it was there the 3 times.
Hope somebody try it, to see. And hopes it helps for you.
Example: Imagine you get Technodrome in first cave, then beat the game. Then continue playing the game (never power off and never reset). And your Technodrome will be again in first cave and again.
Thanks for listening, please try it to see and hope it helps you all. Thanks again.
Hello:
After watching an incredible run of Red I discovered something important. He went back to the past in the same run, and Technodrome didn't change cave.
So that give me the idea, if we beat the game and continue playing (without poweroff or reset) will the Technodrome be in the same cave?
And that was right. In my run the Technodrome appeared in second cave, so I beat it the game. When you beat the game the Ultra credits appear again (after the adventures of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is concluded.). Then I press start in a random situation.
I went all the run normally, when I arrived Area 5, I went directly to cave numer 2, because I know the Technodrome will be there. And yes, it was there.
So what I am saying, is that if somebody gets Technodrome in the first cave. Don't power off or reset, continue playing to have again the Technodrome in the same cave. (until you finish to play in your day, then turn off your Nintendo).
Well hope somebody try this, and that It will help. Thanks for listening.
